Yes !... there is such a thing as a free lunch.

The other big supermarket here is Coles and many years ago when i was very young it was a special day for us to go into the city and have lunch at Coles Cafeteria as it was very cheap, the menu would be very similar to the one you put on here Sifuphil, of course this was all before self serve stores came into vogue, i can remember when my youngest daughter was a baby standing at the counter of the Coles Variety store waiting to be served, there were no Coles Supermarkets then.
We have Costco here in Australia pretty sure it's in Sydney correct me if i am wrong, i haven't been to one, same thing you buy the membership.:hair:
 
We don't have costco around here that I know of. There is a Sam's club or whatever it's called about 60 miles away. I just can't get used to the idea of paying for the right to go in a store and buy something.

According to the Costco site there are none in Arkansas - 5 in Pennsylvania, none around me. We DO have a few Sam's Clubs though.

I think the membership thing is psychologically designed to make you feel special, like you're part of an elite group. Personally I'm with you in that I'm not going to pay for the privilege of paying. I tried Sam's Club membership back when I had my schools, but as it worked out I didn't save enough to even pay for the membership, so it was a scrub for me.

Costco IS worldwide, though. :rolleyes:
