We were camping there and were preparing to leave. It was raining and all of a sudden the rangers were hustling us out fast. Rock & boulders were coming down in some areas and little rivers were running down the road we left on. Truthfully, we didn’t have total faith in this summer student who was telling us what to do. Fortunately, we got out quickly. A few days later a tourist died from a falling rock.

Glad you were compliant and followed advice. 🤗

I lived for awhile just a mile or so from the gate to this place....
Did you ever go in and visit?

I took my kids a couple times, once for just a day and once for a camping a weekend. My parents took me when I was a kid, and my brother and I camped there a few times when we were in our 20s.

Lately, people complain that it's disappointing. I don't know why. Maybe because they only go on a specific tour or something. You don't just go look at Old Faithful and then say you saw Yosemite and it's basically a hole in the ground.

:D

You know, in the wild days of Social Media, there probably isn't enough bling. Nowhere near the number of outlet stores, and night clubs on those mountains. How dull. :D
