UK's Scariest Debt Collector

Ten years ago Shaun Smith was an enforcer for one of the biggest crime families in Liverpool
and embroiled in a war against a rival drug gang.

Shaun introduced urban terrorism to the British underworld.

He sprayed up houses with machine guns, tortured people and used homemade napalm to firebomb his enemies.

Today, after a spell of five years in prison for firearms offences,
he is trying to transfer those skills to the legal economy by working as a debt collector in the northern English satellite town of Warrington.

Synchronicity - I just watched that a few days ago.

I doubt he'd make it here using the tactics he uses. He would need to be licensed and bonded and if they had a camera following him around and he did some of that stuff he'd be arrested.

... but he DOES get results!

He just should be more careful about who he hires to help him - ex-druggies aren't exactly the most reliable workers.

It worries me a little that I find people like Sean utterly fascinating. Never want to meet one, or find them 'endearing' or anything. They just intrigue me to be living on a different plane of existence to the society that surrounds them. They seem to hold a code of ethics that parallels but is based on a totally different philosophy to the norm.

What worries even more is that their code of 'ethics' seems to work better, at least in their 'jungle' world.
The 'Seans' will be those 'benevolent dictators' we'd need to be running the joint if the World ever goes 'Mad Max.' And probably do as good a job or better than the Dictators that 'our' world has thrown up.

Sean reminds me a little of our dear departed Chopper Reid. A local murderous sociopath with some surprisingly acute philosophical outlooks and a lethal sense of humour. He had his own code of 'ethics' that he could make sound downright sensible sometimes.
As mentioned, it's a worry.

But they keep the violence 'in house'. They, to me, are far preferable to the bastards who murder little kids for kicks and rob the helpless and clueless to make a living.

I'm not interested in the lesser thugs, just how the alphas tick. Like the Tigers, I can't get enough of looking at 'em, but I'd never want to cross their path, and am grateful not to have been raised in, or in close proximity to their world.

People often overlook or forget that there are times when you might need a Sean to do your dirty work. They're reviled and shunned by society until it becomes your turn to need justice.

I've always maintained that it's the weaklings of the world that call for their attorneys, and that it's only the strong ones that can bring about justice by using their own two hands. But it's a fine line to walk between justice and thuggery.
