Arriving today.
😅
I have one that I got at a yard sale. Aside from shopping, it is also good for holding leaf-bags during Autumn leaf clean-up time!

No, that really isn't how my hearing is/was. I can hear in the lower frequencies normally, but very poorly at higher frequency. I think that is a common hearing problem.

I did not really understand what that was doing to my perception of sound. Many things, like a toilet flushing, are a mix of low and high frequency. I could hear the toilet flush, but was only hearing the lower frequency part of the sound.

Now that I hear both the sound is much more... for the lack of a better word, rich, or maybe complete. And I have had this problem most of my life so no I don't remember hearing any other way.

Sounds are not painful to me, the audiologist set the hearing aids at about half the strength he thinks I will ultimately need and plans to turn them up and fine tune over the next few weeks.

However I am hearing lots of noises that I think my brain will learn to filter out, things like the sound of my pants rubbing on my legs and crackling joints... the list is long. Not painful, but a bit confusing and distracting. Interesting though.

All the noises my car makes are a lot louder, may have to buckle my seatbelt more often and won't be leaving the turn signal on without noticing.

Have not tried listening to music yet, that's next.
I feel happy for you. Thanks for your descriptions; really fascinating.

Too funny! Great answer!
Don't like to comment on my own post but while it was supposed to be funny, it's also kind of sad since it's about age progression.

36 teen years to early thirties weekly supply.

36 late thirties to late 50's early 60's monthly supply.

36 early 60's to mid 70's years supply.

36 as posted, now a lifetime supply.

Fact of life, we age. All we can do is try to age gracefully and let go of the things of youth - but only when absolutely necessary!

I’m thinking of getting a new toaster too. Our 4 slicer only works on 1 side. Had it for more years than I can remember.
my toaster was modern.. stainless steel, cool touch sides, high lift etc.. had it about 10 years I suppose, got a new 4 slice toaster..didn't pay more than I had to for it.. Breville

cool touch, wide slots , reheat, etc all the same ... but what I noticed most about it was how light it was compared to my other toaster .. so the weight might be something you'd want to consider Pappy
