Given the increase in crimes, there are places I used to go that I would no longer consider visiting. I figure it is better to avoid the possibility of a confrontation than having to defend myself. More and more States are making it legal to carry firearms, and IMO, that just increases the chances of getting caught in some "cross fire".
Where we live, crime, and violence is almost unheard of....but, if someone ever tried to break into our house, I keep an Intertek Tec 9 assault pistol with a 36 round magazine in a strategic location.
