Your Christmas Shopping Done Yet ??

I don’t have much reason to engage in the commercial hustle and bustle of Christmas.

I stuff a few envelopes and buy a few treats and a plant but that’s about it.

I miss some of it and enjoy the memories but I don’t miss the stress and financial strain of trying to meet everyone’s expectations on a small budget that was already under stress from the normal monthly obligations.
 
I actually did some today... after I left the physiotherapists' office.. I drove into North London.. and bought Christmas chocolate and festive goodies for the children next door... and some fancy biscuit( cookies) tins and boxes for friends and neighbours.....

The Shops had the expensive chocolate goodies and biscuits all at a 1/3rd off the usual Christmas prices.. so I just bought whatever I needed.. all at once.. and put them all away in the shed for Christmas ... when I got home.. (y)

I haven’t bought for Christmas since I lost my son, many years ago.

When I did shop, I started in July, buying a little at a time. By the last two weeks, all I needed was a few stocking stuffers. I marveled at the frenzied folks who were just getting started at the mall; I followed that by a stool at the bar of my favorite road house for a few hours.
 
When I had people to buy for I shopped all year long.
I had a present stash that I could go to for birthdays and holidays and whatevers.
Picked up a lot of stuff at after holiday sales. 75 percent off sales were great.

I dont buy or receive any presents now. I really dont need anything. Im pretty much full up. :D
My husbands wife used to buy me the bestest presents.
 
No don’t do any , and to be totally honest I wouldn’t know what to buy for grandchildren, I’ve got some GC in their 30’s and 3 who are 9 , 11 and 12 at the young GC ….. request I set up a bank account and put money in it for birthdays and Christmas …

..I was in the local bank branch a few days ago and the manager said she has set up the same in addition to an account they can access if and when they want to ….so I’m going to set up a everyday account and set up auto payments for that as well, ( the Birthday / Christmas one is set up so they can’t use money till they are 18 )

We don’t buy anything for each other now days , I’ve mentioned before I put $1 and $2 coins in a jar all year
and we buy what ever we want from , what ever $$$ we have in the jar ( had $275.00 each last Christmas ) out of jar
Hubs is already planning what he wants , a new laptop 💻 ( he will add what extra it costs )
we actually went to look at what he wants , yesterday it’s a Acer swift , but it’s not in stock ….and it’s increased $300 in price…in 2 weeks

I was just sitting down today & making out the list to get started. I will finish my in person shopping/bank run by the middle of November along with addressing the Christmas cards. The only thing I'll wait on will be the couple of on-line gifts for family out of state so they will be delivered closer to Christmas.

No all done. Cards that have season greetings & room for Benjamin's bought, filled & put away for that special day.
