Your hair, how often to you cut or have it cut?

I'm not really on any set schedule. But, mostly it seems like every 2 1/2 mos-3 mos is usually when I say 'it's time for a haircut'...then I'll text my girl and she'll give me her availability and we go from there.
I think she only works Thursday thru Saturday. She's an x-ray tech on the other days.

The last time I cut my hair was about a year ago . I cut it from tailbone length to past shoulder. It’s currently almost at waist length. It grows about 3/4rds of an inch a month.
I won’t be trimming it until it gets back down to tailbone or classic length which is just under the butt cheeks.

I don't cut my hair anymore. It falls out on it's own, so why bother to cut it off? Besides, I need what's left of it at Christmas time. It matches the long white beard. :)

Thank You for your Service, Ike.

I learned to trim my hair from youtube during covid and have done it ever since. I've gone to a stylist maybe twice since then and I didn't find that the style was any better. Then again I didn't spring for a great stylist, just a walk in place.
One advantage of thinner hair is that it's easy to trim.

My hair's maximum growth is about mid-back, I'm amazed that Dusty and Patty can still grow hair so long!

I cut my own just below the shoulder, hubs cuts it "straight" across the back. He has a slight astigmatism that gives it a bit of a slant, but I don't care. Like Pendle I have enough curl to cover up mistakes.

I have a fear of shampoo sinks with that hard edge cutting into the back of the neck. My healthy mother came home from having her hair done and had a fatal stroke the next morning.

AI quote:
Beauty parlor stroke syndrome (BPSS) is a rare condition that can occur when the neck is hyperextended during a hair salon procedure. This can compress the vertebral arteries in the neck, which can lead to a stroke.

I used to cut my own. Until about a year ago, it was very long. Then one day, while using a skil saw, the pony tail flipped over my shoulder and came very close to that saw blade. It just kept getting in the way. Found a cute very short style online, took it to a hairdresser and voila! I love it short. No blow drying, don't even have to really comb it. The cut is such that it goes along with the way the hair grows.

Have had total strangers give compliments on it. Now I have to go every 8-12 weeks for a cut. It is colder in the winter, though.

I've been cutting my own for the last year or so. My hair has become so thin it's silly to try for a style or even keep it long enough to comb. I purchased a decent set of cutters and cut the top at 3/4" and the sides at 5/8", then some trimming around the ears.

Once a year just to trim. So a year ago I had hair to my waist and I decided to get it cut. The salon gal came here and very professioally and nicely cut it to my ears. Now it is down to me shouldes again and I won't ever cut it again
Your hair must grow fast @dusty!
I cut my long hair once in the last ten years. Was that a mistake! I came home with my hair 1-3 inches long. My DH said: "Well, if you like it..." and wandered off quickly. Don't have a pixie face to go with a pixy haircut.
