Your old homes

Les Lohiers 1.jpg

This is my childhood home, the property on which it stands had been in the family since the 12th century. My family, on my father's side, are apparently direct descendants of a UK historical figure. Our house was built on the foundations of his. My father sold the property in 1984 as none of his children wanted it, as the upkeep would be enormous.

My boyfriend was a navy brat. He said he was in three different schools in the fifth grade and eleven schools all together. I was lucky, I was in the same *building* all twelve years.

I went to something like 10 schools - some for just a couple of months. Hated it!

My family moved about half a dozen times by the time I was 12. After I left home I moved so many times that my mother began calling me a gypsy. It's easy to move when you don't have much to pack, now though, it wouldn't be so easy.

Where I live now is by far the longest I've lived anywhere - 14 years. No plans to move.

It works in Australia too.
My home was quite modest by today's standards but it was a happy and secure place with wonderful memories
