Why are Scientists so Eager to Find Extraterrestrials?

Read somewhere that we have done ourselves in at least 4 times, now they are finding stuff that no one knows how it works. TOO high tech

According to the Bible, Earth was created first. Then the Sun, Moon, Solar System, and Stars for the Purpose of giving us Light in utter darkness, a way to Tell Time, and constellations for Navigation. Seasons (days, months, years). Ancient peoples used the movement of stars in producing their calendar and finding their way across great distances, just as God designed from the beginning. It may be that even some migrating birds make use of the constellations.

Another Purpose was to focus man's attention on the Creator's awesome power and greatness. Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.” Doesn't the vastness of the universe leave you in awe as you look up?

Psalm 8:1,3,9 says “O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Thy name in all the earth, Who hast displayed Thy splendor above the heavens! …When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which Thou has ordained; …O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Thy name in all the earth!”

The Bible does not teach that intelligent life exists elsewhere in our universe. Nor does it say there are other worlds with intelligent life. God's Angels, not aliens, are out there.
 
Yes, angels walk among us but why the weary face icon?
Angels are here for good purposes, to watch over us and help us.

It says in the Bible that when we entertain we could be entertaining angels. That tells us that they look like regular people like us. So we may not know. Other times we may know. I have at least 4x...3 were recent all at different times in one day. Just looked like average folks.

Knight, what was once thought to be proof of sustainable life on mars is no longer supported by scientists.

@norman ...even though it says "years" in "light year", it's not how many years, but rather the distance that light travels in a year. So it's 6 trillion miles that light travels in a year.

Rosemarie, the "Son of Heaven" was an Emperor of China
He was not an extraterrestrial nor was he mentioned in the Bible.
 
Well, hmm, don't remember reading this but its true that its mentioned in Genesis. No one seems to know exactly who these Sons of God were for sure but the most likely seems to be Fallen Angels...a guess in commentaries. I'm not a fan of commentaries because you can't count on it as truth. Like Rose, I have little interest.
 
There is another realm out there somewhere and that is where the devil has his own deception going on in the form of various occult practices and a multitude of religious rites. It could be that behind those unexplainable UFO reports.

People are easily fascinated by all sorts of phenomena that are difficult to explain. For Christians there is Jesus' warning “Take heed that no man deceive you and study the Scripture, so we might accurately handle the word of truth.
 
When these aliens finally arrive and show themselves,
how do we communicate with them?

Unless they have learned our ways of communicating
with each other, we have no idea how to do so, we can't
hold a conversation with any of the other species that
share this planet with us!

We have learned how to dominate lots of animals and give
them direct commands that they have learned what they
mean and they comply, if a dog barks we don't know what
it is saying.

So somebody needs to do some educating just in case.

I guess I kind of new that, but science speaks of planets that appear could support human life that are 3000 light years from Earth which would take us over 137 thousand earth years to reach it with our current space travel speed method.... Maybe I should stick to following the Chicago Cubs and not worry about....
 
Norman, a light year is not a unit of time, it's a unit of distance. So asking how many earth years = one light year doesn't mean anything.

A light year is the distance light travels in one year. It's about 6 trillion miles.

Agree, but I read or thought I read on the internet that a light year could be calculated into time (years) using the speed a rocket was traveling and number of light years it had to travel.. I guess it does't matter because my rocket is out of fuel. lol
 
I have this fantasy that ET comes down to earth and picks me and only me to endow with special powers where I can zap anybody that annoys me into the cornfield like that little kid in that old Twilight zone episode. :cool:

 
I remember long ago, the rumor was Mars was populated but an unstoppable ruination of the planet began. In order to try to preserve their kind and creatures, they "sent" cells to earth's oceans to begin the evolutionary process again.

The purpose of the universe?
Humans always want a conclusion or a reason.
We can't accept the term 'eternity', no conclusion, forever and without a reason.
