My `10 item $80 odds and ends Amazon order arrived today. It was delivered at 5 different times by 5 different drivers. My postman brought 1 item. One driver brought 4 items packed in 3 individual small envelope type sleeves, another driver brought a box containing 1 of the items and each of the other drivers brought boxes containing 2 items each.
I live about 12 miles from even the nearest small town. I shudder to think of the environmental impact of those 4 big trucks (postman comes anyway so is not counted) and the disposal of the boxes and packing material.
Don't get me wrong. I love Amazon and know it would be difficult to live where I do without the service but I still feel guilty about the waste. And yes, I know the unemployment situation is helped by providing jobs for the drivers. But I still feel guilty.
