Lengthy Posts

My posts are only as long as they need to be, to address any given issue currently being discussed.

If a given subject triggers a memory from my past, I may include that in my post, but I usually find enough approval icons on those posts, so I keep 'em coming!

This is virtually my only contact with the outside world, wordy-yea

Correct spelling and punctuation-Yes, that is the way it should be done; however, it gives me great satisfaction to ignore such requirements.
The problem with this site is the post all have a valid point. That is irksome.

Those, like me, put their mind in gear and let the words flow, forgetting any format of standard English.

Are you guys aware- those like me with vision problems have a difficult time reading or writing.
Yes, font can be increased on my post, but I've yet to determine how to increase font size on your post. Please, don't tell me to transfer it to Word Doc..

Oh dear. Brevity has never been one of my strong suits.
I tend to be ''wordy'', but I do try to parse my long posts into short paragraphs. The kind of writing I HATE the most is stream of consciousness, with it's run-on sentences with no seeming focus.

Use the Ctrl tab on your keyboard, and the scroll button/wheel on your mouse at the same time..and increase the font that way...

Some of my favourite posters ramble and I genuinely look forward to their posts.

I was very glad to read that. No particular reason, that it made me feel better, but it did.

It’s nice having a mixture of different posting styles which is exactly what we have so it’s all good to me.

I agree. For myself, It is just like meeting a variety of different people. :)
Oh, it is that.

I enjoyed all these replies to this topic.

I look forward to reading that densely written story without white spaces, at a moment that i can do it. I am sure it will be worth it to me!

But how did the king's daughter feel about all this? What about her rights aspresumably a full-grown woman? Doesn't she get any say in who she marries? Never mind the crow and all his stupid corn... the king couldn't stand any more of the story so he gives his daughter away to get the story to stop? I think her rights are being seriously violated.

Royalty have always used their children as bargaining tools and for peace negotiations and business deals.

I think we can all agree the king was an idiot.

I have never been able to use Twitter, where you're limited to 120 (?) characters. Tried a time or two but can't cut it short enough. I am wordy, but I assure you that is not my only fault. I try to limit my wordiness to my diary. But if wordy is not what some people like, that's okay. Some of us prefer short stories over long novels. Some prefer details over 'just the facts'. No problem here!

Maybe I am wordy because I think that the emotion in what someone writes can best be defined by how they write something.

I like long posts, quality content is usually made of long posts and can help us rank better on Google. As many said above, space is very important, this is from our sticky thread: write more readable posts
Don't write a long post in one paragraph, please use small paragraphs (no more than 3 lines) and divide them with a blank line.

If you find your long posts were edited into small paragraphs, that's me, I do that a lot.

<raises hand> Me. I’m one of “those” people. 😖😰😔 I even make note of it next to my name....I am very aware of my flaws. 😂

On all the forums and groups I’m a part of, I write for myself as well as my intended audience, unless I’m responding to someone else’s thread in which case I’m way more focused on them and providing a thoughtful, appropriate and hopefully empathetic response. But other than those responses, my ramblings have a cathartic nature to them.

That, or I have an issue or problem that I’m earnestly looking for help with or wisdom about, in which case I feel compelled to give as much detail as possible so as to receive a more insightful response.

In my defense 😉 I will say that I’m a stickler for grammar and punctuation, correct word usage and sentence structure, so that those who DO take the time to read are at least not burdened with abuse of the English language.

.............and <sigh> I guess this post is ample evidence of all that I just said above. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷‍♀️
