As some of you might remember, I was TV shopping , and asked questions here about the new ones.

Well, it's here/mounted/& hooked up......

It is an LG, 55" mounted to the wall.........after 37 years of a 27" tube type......the difference is amazing !

One of those things that make a person [me] say.........why did I wait so long.

I got a 43" flatscreen in 2015, coming from a 27" old tuber. Yes, what a difference. So a year later I got a 32" (both Vizeos) for my bedroom.

They're so cheap! When I got married (1972) we bought a 19" black and white and it cost around $120. That was more than a week's pay.

Wow, 55"! How far away do you usually sit?

Yeah, it seems a tad large when in the living room, but I do watch from here as well, kitchen, and I like the larger view from here. No doubt it will take some getting used to......my old one was a 27"

RPG:
I have the same tv as you. Got it last year from Amazon...delivered right to my door.

I thought about doing that but........this damn arthritis has limited my mobility so damn much, I just said to hell with it. Called the store , the guy came out gave some idea of different sizes , and how they would look/fit. I chose the one I got, delivered, mounted ...........done.

Hell I have no kids to leave to , so what's a few bucks more?

Mines in a corner so I couldn’t mount it on the wall. Got the stand from Walnut and it was a bit— putting it together.

Mine is in the corner as well but.......it is mounted on the wall. Very solid. I might look for a stand like that, but just set it [free] under the TV. Getting rid of the old heavy Oak stand that the old one sat on.

I like that chair, I see in the photo......that's next, I need a new pair [of chairs] in the living room.

I want one like you have, and i want one recliner .

I know what you mean, I have a flat screen and am wanting a smart tv. Glad to hear you love it!

As I noted above in post #7, I bought new Vizeos in 2015 and 2016. The last one was a "smart" TV and it works horribly. I would assume other brands might work better.

I bought a Roku stick for the first TV and it works great, no comparison. The "smart" TV, when streaming, is as slow as molasses in January. Even when not streaming, changing channels has a really annoying lag. It was much better when I first had it, but it would automatically update itself -- you know, to "improve" it -- and each update was worse than the previous.

I have seriously thought about getting a Roku stick for it and forgetting about the "smart" part. At any rate, I would research before buying any "smart" TV again.

Good luck!

Didn't I tell you in your original post that you would see a HUGE difference after 37 years with the old one?.. wasn't I right?...I'd like to have my smart TV on the wall, but we have solid brick walls and it's really hard to drill into them far enough to hold a bracket big enough for the TV, so I have my TV on a low Beech coloured TV unit abut 1 and a half times the width of the TV... with shelves underneath for the DVD player and the Satellite box etc..
