Right from summer to winter

Two inches of snow last night and night temps in the teens predicted for a few more days. The sound of lawn mowers mulching leaves has been replaced by the sound of snow blowers seemingly overnight.

I could not cope with that. We are freezing here in Houston and we usually have a few cold days in February and that's our winter. Wore the long jammies last night and thankful I can stay home today. My daughter in Va. is loving it. She loves the cold weather. I feel for y'all from north Texas and northern states. Weather report just said we are under a freeze warning until 9 am this morning.

we moved from NC to southeast Illinois about 4 years ago to be near our daughter here in corn country. .....it's freezin!

I enjoy the snow and cold on this end of winter but after the 1st of the year, it does become tedious.

Today the fresh snow is sparkling in the sun and the roads in my area are clear so I'm going to head out and enjoy it.

Same thing here, complete with reporters, picking up the snow to show us  and warn us that it might turn really, really bad if it doesn't stop.....LOL ! Oh and I forgot about the one that just had to do a live report from the local salt pile.........(y)

Same thing every year.

Here in Tucson it snows about once every 5 years and it's gone in half a day. As far as I know, the lowest overnight temps was 26 and it's very rare. I'm from CT and glad I left considering the harsh winters they've been having.

terry...we are north of you by less than an hour. It was 31° early this morning. Agree...this weather is crazy! You should have seen Bootzsi the big Maine Coon cat...fluffed out like a big fur "muff".

Are you from Michigan by chance? Sounds like my neck of the wood.

Jammies or sweats, @terry123 ?

Took my doggy out at 6 AM for a walk, and it was 30 degrees at that time ... he had no complaints about the cold, but had his heavy duty white wool sweater on ..:). .. We were out for about 35 minutes and and didn't see anyone else walking around ... lol

The moon looked beautiful ... white ice crystals framed it in the sky last night until daylight ... so pretty!

I never understand the value of having a reporter stand out in the weather for a live story when it doesn't appear to add value to the story.

Heard about that moon on the weather last night, Bonnie. Forgot to look through the windows at it.
Best thing is its getting warmer and warmer now. Way too early for this nonsense...lol. Great day for a fire though.

Think this started with Anderson Cooper's "hurricane hunk". No one could go out in a cat #2 cane and
"hunker down" like he did...then it became a norm, to see the guys standing out in their blue parkas. My
fav is that guy on the World News that stands over the bridge in NYC with every hair in place while he's
describing how many millions are in harms way or the storm flavor of the day. Wonder what he ever did to get
that cushy job?!

Flannel jammies last night. Need to wash some winter night things. Washer and dryer are on outside patio so the washing will have to wait another day. I stay cold so I keep a pair of warm jammies ready to wear. Its been nice to have some warm oatmeal for breakfast and tomato soup and grilled cheese for lunch. Am going to take a nap since nothing good on tv due to hearings.

Our blood thins out an all it has to do is rain and get in the 50's for us to start getting cold.
Can't imagine toughing it up north again. Got a robe, insulated slippers with 2 pr of socks on, 2 layers topside and
thermal pants on right now. Its 45°!

It went from summer to winter here also. Absolutely freezing (in the 30's!) and windy for the last few days. It's supposed to warm up a little now, at least that's what they're promising.
