Why women dread aging in America after hearing hateful comments about their older looking apperance I understand why

You're referring to the post about the woman who claimed to be in her 60's and who clearly to everyone looked much older.

No-one is against people making the best of their looks as they age , especially not us folks who are of an age ourselves, what we dislike is people not only lying to themselves, but trying to fool everyone else.

She seems to be promoting the idea of valuing wisdom, maturity, kindness, etc. over worrying about the appearance aspect of physical aging. So far, so good; I'm with her. But then she gets in a nice little plug at the end about her blog, in which she is promoting certain products to forstall aging? I don't know what these products are, but if they're designed to create the illusion of youth, she seems to be contradicting herself!

I'm not a woman. Yeah, I'm 73. You are not going to believe this, but I don't have the body of an 18 year old. I could pine away wishing my abdomen was flat, like when I was 18. I could pray that my butt was still "cute", like when I was 18. Or I could face the fact that I'm 73. I look like I'm 73. And I could accept that the aging process is a fact of life. Maybe, I shouldn't be that vain about my age to the point where it affects getting on with my life. I'm alive. I'm 73. So what if I look like I'm 73. I am.

There's this ad on TV about a tooth whitening product that really gets my blood boiling. Something about "just because you are old doesn't mean you have to look old", and the addle-brained lady saying it, just ticks me off. You're old. Get over yourself.

Ever seen that infomercial for the "Total Gym?" I'm sure Chuck Norris said what he said because he was paid a fortune to say it, because it was really STUPID: "Age is only a state of mind." Yeah....we've heard that comment from people who live in a world of their own making.
If age is only a state of mind, why don't we see 50 & 60 year olds playing professional football & basketball?

Age is somewhat irrelevant, IMO. Most people can consider themselves lucky if they reach their "elder" years, and can still get around nicely. More important than physical age, is how people handle that "age". If a person is trying to maintain a reasonably healthy and active lifestyle, things like gray hair, and some wrinkles on the face, etc., are of little importance....at least, to me.

I think most of us mourn the loss of our looks as we age; it's just natural to look back at photos of our glorious youth with a bit of nostalgia. Sadly, some people are overcome by the need to "fix" it and go to great lengths to try to look younger. I'm comfortable just being who I am, since nothing lasts forever.

I can't stand Chuck Norris you know why because when John McCain was running for president in 2008 Chuck Norris was interviewed on a news channel and he snarled he wasn't supportive McCain running for president because Norris said, McCain was "too Old"
?????? Chuck Norris was just a few years younger than McCain. Maybe someone may be thinking that Norris is "too old" to be advertising Total Gym exercise equipment.
Imagine his nerve calling someone too old to reach for political power!!!
That is like the pot calling the kettle black

Even when I was young I never thought of changing myself to please others. I always had a flat chest it didn't bother me when I was in my teens and 20's in fact I would crack jokes about myself like I did'nt need bras just band-aids.
What ever changes brings I will just accept them. wrinkles sags and all

I hesitate to ask, but are you female? From your username I "assumed" otherwise.

He's 79. And, he stopped doing any action movies or competing in martial arts tournaments, so it looks like age is not only a state of mind, teehee.

Meanwhile my daughter-in-law sent me a photo on Snapchat of my 2-year-old grandson standing on a window sill, buck naked, in broad daylight. He had been standing there, unbeknownst to her, watching workmen fixing up their garage. That's youth for you.

That's good to hear. And I feel the same way (I'm F, age 60). But women get crucufied for looking less than perfect and older than 30. We have to ignore it VERY hard. Men tend to get more of a pass for having gray hair, a belly, and a receding hairline.

Yes I am female. I adopted Barney Hill because I am a huge fan of his. Yes I am a pancake chested female. And proud of itšŸ˜™šŸ¤—
I'm a little larger than pancake size. I heard a lot of nasty comments when I was a teenager. But the comments were from female "friends." I never heard a guy complain. Some of them like small breasts. And I never minded being small-sized.

Someday in the future, looks won't matter and that will be great. Then we'll be able to solve some of life's REAL problems and enjoy one another better than we do now.

Of course we're not there yet, so I'm going to continue....

You are cool.
Breast size never bothered me. Maybe because that part of me never was a people pleaser. I mean look what good does it do if you are a young woman and go through the surgical process of implants. You have to age in time no and matter how big your chest because we live in a youth oriented culture those 40 triple d's aren't going to save you from criticism from others.

Remember Pamela Anderson? 20 years ago she was a hot young chick with big implanted breasts. She broke a record as having been chosen multiple times for a centerfold model in Playboy magazine. She was much desired. But time passed and Pam got older.

I remember a few years ago when she was 48 and she was showing us her new more mature and conservative side of dressing she was still very pretty. But I was stunned at the comments under the written article about her. There were men posting she was nothing but an "old hag". One of those old fellows I looked his thumbnail photo by his comment and Jesus lord if that was his image and that's how he really looked, he looked like something an archeologist pulled from under "The Great Sphinx"
He had to be nuts for posting that Pamela Anderson resembled an "Old Hag"

Still pretty Pam with her large implanted breasts was being publicly lynched for being a 48 year old "Old Hag"
God!!!!!!

Maybe it's a part of me that knew when I was a young girl that knew it was no need to desire a showy chest measurement because someday when I was no longer young wouldn't do any good to have a hefty chest. People are too stuck on age. They was simply make you invisible.

Dolly Parton is doing okay!

When I see a woman with big fake breasts, I think of a cow that needs to be milked. It's hard for me to believe they actually think they look sexy.
And those women who get implants because they think their boyfriends will like them more? They're as stupid as their boyfriends.
