When was the last time you went to a movie theater?

rpg's thread about "The Irishman" got me thinking- When was the last time you went to a movie theater? I'm disabled so I don't get around much, but I think "Star Wars" was the last time I was in a movie theater. My mom & dad used to go at least a couple of times a week in the 1930s.

About 3 years ago, with grandkids ... it was the latest kiddie movie out at that time but I don't remember the name.
Was very entertaining though! ..šŸ˜€

Edit .. Zootopia (Disney)

An actual all singing and dancing multi-plex cinema was a long time ago, we went to see Avatar , and it was freeeezing in there. I was so cold I left half way through

The theatre however.. I've been to many times in the recent past it was part of my job...

It's been many years since I went to a movie theater. Once they came out with movies you could rent and watch at home,I never saw the reason to go to the movie theater and was happier to sit comfortably at home and watch it.

Years ago, they are more like cafes these days with people chatting, and stinking the place out eating burgers, hotdogs and French fries etc.I’d rather wait until the film comes on TV

Don't remember how long it's been but the movie was Stephen Spielberg's "Lincoln" and it had just been released.

Mrs. Google says it was 2012

Maybe 2 or 3 decades ago. Couldn't stand the eating, drinking & loud noise. I'm a big fan of Amazon where I buy good ole DVDs. Don't really care for the modern movies. Maybe my last movie was Disney's "Fantasia" when it was released. I took the kids. Now the oldest is 40 so go figure!

I went to see Out of Africa so it must have been in the mid-80s.

In those days I was still a smoker and it was more comfortable for me to rent a movie from Blockbuster and stay home.

These days I don't really have any excuse, I think about going to see an afternoon movie at the mall and just never seem to make the effort.

Fantasia was released in 1940 so I don't think that was it. As for me, 2 years ago, but I don't remember the movie.

At least 10 years ago. Before that, I went to movies 2 or 3 times a month, often alone. Now I enjoy freestreaming everything on my big desktop. I have a comfy leather chair to sit in :)

Nowadays, almost as soon as a movie premiers, it's online.

One of my favorite hobbies is going to the movies, before this yr I would go once/twice a month either by myself or with my 'movie buddy',Alexei when his schedule permitted. I usually go to the 1st afternoon showing if its around 1pm or earlier, that's good for me because I take the bus
This yr I've only seen 4 which is way below what I usually see,2018 I saw 20.The last movie I saw was space movie,'Ad Astra' in Sept starring Brad Pitt, thought it was really good
If I had not hurt my knee in Nov,I'd probably would have seen more

Forever, until The Metropolitan Opera House started filming live performances. These are now available in movie theaters world wide.

Last month we saw Turandot and Madam Butterfly.

Five years. I went to a morning showing of Jurassic World. Horrible waste of my time and money. The original, Jurassic Park, was great, though.

About two years ago with the grand kids to watch some Disney movie, not sure which one. The seats went back and were so comfy I almost fell asleep.

We paid extra for 3D but I wasn't impressed. I remember taking our own kids to Disney World in the early 80s and watching a 3D movie that had butterflies which seemed to sit right on my shoulder.

I told my daughter about this because she majored in computer animation. She said all 3D isn't created equal. What I saw back then would cost a fortune to make for movie theaters.
I wish she had told me before I bought the tickets.

What ever year the Amelia Earhart movie came out. 2009 ?

Before that it was Worlds Fastest Indian movie, and before that I go way back to E.T.

About 10 years ago. Only went once that year.

I don't miss it. There is more on TV than I have time for and I can relax in my recliner to watch it.

I'm sure some films are still better seen on the big screen, but I have reached a point in my life where I just have no interest in going to one.
