Ok, this is not politics; it is geography. Just got a "Collins World Atlas" for Christmas. Didn't want the $200 National Geographic as, I had one once & it is just too big for this guy. Reading the atlas this morning I have come across some rather interesting (and disturbing) facts. Here they are.
1. For people who think that New York City is the centre of the world, here are the facts (cities & their populations):
Tokyo, Japan -------------- 38 million
Delhi, India --------------- 25.6 million
Shanghai, China --------- 23 million
Mexico City, Mexico ---- 21.7 million
New York, USA ----------- 21.3 million
2. The world's population is growing at an annual rate of 83 million people per year.
Why am I not surprised at global warming & pollution.
