my husband is one. He's never enjoyed food anyway all his life, and he went from being a meat eater to a pescatarian and then ultimately to a vegan diet... .. but now he's lost his sense of taste and smell food is just a means' to survive to him, and often he doesn't eat at all just relying on a protein drink

Yes. Fortunately, I have a good metabolism which keeps my body at an average weight. Also, my body tells me when it's had enough. At restaurants, I always end up going home with a box containing the next day's lunch.

Refrigerate or freeze them when they are slightly warm- before reaching room temps if you can. Frozen food companies have done extensive testing on this issue. Actually, raw foods are real "sicky" culprits, especially like lettuce & spinach. I wash all raw vegetables in very hot water (even if it's packaged and says its been washed) - then, leave it sit for a minute or two, rinse to refresh with cold water before eating.
I snack between meals and my doctor has just advised me that I am very healthy, thank God!Food is ok, but I like to get my meals over and done with quickly. We don't snack between meals as that is unhealthy.

That's interesting. I've never heard that before. I very seldom eat all my food from restaurants and pretty much always ask for a to-go box so I can take it home and have it for lunch the next day. My to-go stuff seldom includes rice or potatoes because I don't eat much in the way of carbs, but I've brought home pretty much everything else over time. After finding some chicken (I think it was chicken) oven roasted looking slippery and green, picked up and use meat thermometer. My main rule is after 5 days after being cooked it gets tossed. A little surprised about the rice and others, love re fried rice with chicken etc. Have eaten that for decades. However will check it out.
The rice is cooked by me, not takeout.
I love to eat. I love the way something really good makes me feel when it hits my mouth. If only I could get that much enjoyment from people. ~RME~I guess that might come across as a weird question, but I know people for whom eating is just a necessary function with no particular enjoyment attached to it. They eat to live, rather than living to eat. While I eat to live too, I sure LOVE to eat!
I am SUCH a foodie!!! I really enjoy eating, I enjoy food of all kinds and ethnicities, I'm never afraid to try new foods and new tastes, there is very little I don't like or won't eat. I look forward to mealtimes, whether it's just a simple meal at home or choosing which restaurant to go to.
I really enjoy home cooked food, especially when we go to someone else's house to eat....I get such a kick out of seeing and tasting the way others prepare the same food items I do, but in different ways.
Because I enjoy eating so much, I have to be very mindful about what I eat and when because since menopause, the days of eating as much and whatever I like are over. I take food to work with me every day, and it's very simple, low/no carb meals and snacks....poached chicken and a salad, broiled fish and steamed veggies, almonds, string cheese, carrot sticks, greek yogurt etc. I might have a fried egg or half an avocado for breakfast.
When Ron or I make dinner it's usually some kind of meat and veggie side, though I also fix a carbohydrate for Ron...baked potato, brown rice, pasta, because he has NO problems with his metabolism and burns through food at a really fast rate.
