How do other people describe you?

Gaer

"Angel whisperer"
I mean your personal traits. I've been called "antagonistic." I was first called "aloof" by my Mother when I was a small child. I almost asked her what it meant, but part of me didn't care. Thus, the description of "aloof".
How do others see you?

ha, ha, this question tickles me because it depends on who is doing the describing. . .here's what people have told me to my face; who knows what they say behind my back??

Some people call me tenacious; others call me stubborn. Most call me honest; those who are annoyed by my honesty call me blunt. Some call me witty; others call me a bit of a fun-loving smart aleck.

Other descriptions: smart, kind, fair.

The most common comments my students wrote on end of year evals were:
"she's tough, but very fair"; "she makes you work hard, but she helps you a lot"; "she treats us like real people and not like we are stupid"; "she believes in us even when we don't believe in ourselves." Eh, comments like those won me 3 teaching awards, so I am very pleased (and proud) that whatever the truth is about how most people see me that I was good to and for my students.

The description I like best is "always smiling" even though it isn't precisely true, I do smile a lot.

And since I've moved "back home" after being out of state for over 30 years, my H.S. gal friends have taken to calling me "Skinny Minnie" since I'm the same size as when I left and most of them aren't (I am not skinny, though. I'm actually the "correct weight" for my size and height according to my Doc). P.S. They aren't being mean; they are just teasing me because they say I remind them of the energizer bunny because I'm so active.

My best friend in the world told me recently that the one thing she has always loved about me is that I have integrity. That may be one of the nicest compliments I've ever had.

Anyway, it's always funny to hear what people think. . .or at least what they are willing to say to your face.
