Mom cries in viral video when she can't find diapers to buy

Now I live in Tennesee. Did live in Michigan.
Lauren Whitney was having a tough week when she went to her local Walmart to get diapers for her 18-month-old daughter, Rosalynd. But when she got to the aisle, there was nothing left in Rosalynd's size.

It was just too much for the mom of four from Washington, Utah.

Why can't she use fabric or gauze diapers? Why doesn't she tear up an old sheet and wash them by hand after use? What did they use 100 years ago? This is only a temporary crisis. Make do! Maybe there was something else bothering her to make her act that way. (four kids might do it)
 

Why did she have four kids if she can't afford four kids right now? My mother taught me all about birth control and her damn diaphragm before it was even decent! Of course, she grew up during the big depression and knew what true poverty is all about. She just wanted her kids to learn to be sensible about life, and plan for things. Thanks, Ma. ❤

I once asked her, during our last visit btw before I lost her "Ma, were you ever afraid when I was a kid I would get pregnant?" She answered "Never. Your dad & I knew you weren't stupid!" Thanks, Ma. ❤

Goodness gracious, whatever happened to using cloth diapers?

Oldest was born in 1983, youngest in 1992... 6 kids in all, and I put all 6 through old-fashioned cloth diapers, diaper pins, and rubber pants.

I hear it all the time, cloth was/is so much work, cloth was/is so time consuming, cloth was/is so hard.

I was age 8, when I started helping my mom with baby siblings, and that included folding and changing diapers (yes, cloth). That was back in the late 60's, through to the mid 70's. Not only did I change my baby siblings cloth diapers, I changed a few baby cousins that wore cloth diapers, and by age 10, was babysitting in and around the neighbourhood. I made a whopping .25¢ an hour (early years), and it wasn't until my later high-school years that I dealt with Pampers for the first time. All the moms I sat for used cloth diapers and rubber pants.

So, if a teeny-bopper like myself had no problem changing cloth diapers with pins back in the day, surely an experienced mother would have no problem changing/using them.

Maybe... just maybe, something from the past might make a resurgence.
Would be nice to see that happen, if even on a small scale. .

Our 1st son was born when cloth diapers were used. Diaper pail was stinky but the chemical helped. I can't imagine what this poor mom would do if like me she had to learn how to use those large diaper bins without stabbing herself in her fingers. I was a hands on dad & really appreciated tape tabs for our other sons.

Phew! Oh, yes, I remember the diaper pails! OMG, do I remember!

I had two pails on the go when my kids were little. One in the baby room for wet diapers, and the other in the bathroom for dirties. With two in diapers, I stuck myself lots! If only I had a quarter for every-time I poked myself!
