Name something positive you've enjoyed since isolation

I LOVE virtual Doctor's appointments. All I have is a flip phone, and no camera on my computer. So I don't even have to shave to "go to the doctor's." No more worrying about traffic, and being late. nor waiting for an hour or more.
Yeah!!!!
I’m going to have my first one soon.

I can't think of one single positive thing.

I can't either, Camper. If you are retired, your time is your own anyway so if you want to lay around and watch Netflix you can do that or anything else anytime anyway. If I were still working, I would probably have enjoyed the extra time at home but for me this situation just makes life more difficult and frustrating.

What I really miss is meeting with friends every morning for coffee and discussing (and arguing) about politics, sports, how everyone is feeling, and just companionship .
Now everything is closed down because of Covid.
I could organize a conference call but not everyone is computer savvy.

"Counting flowers on the wall
That don't bother me at all
Playing solitaire till dawn
With a deck of fifty one
Smoking cigarettes and watching Captain Kangaroo
Now don't tell me , I've nothing to do"

I try to keep positive most of the time. I know it's a downer to people around me and like "Ruth n Jersey", I can't just jump in the car and go to the store all the time. I realize that spending more time with family should be a priority on my list. So the positive thing that I have enjoyed is to spend more time with others.

Actually being thankful ever day I have not contracted this virus. I only watch a few minutes of news now. I feel so sorry for the healthcare workers. They have always been our angels but now they are more. We owe them so much. Imagine waking up every day having to go to work facing this disease and the faces of the sick people everywhere.

A couple weeks ago,I was 'channel surfing' trying to find something to watch, stumbled onto POP channel. The channel was showing reruns of NCIS:New Orleans.I watched the episode thought it was good.I'm now hooked, learned it started its run on CBS in 2014.Its on Sun nights at 10pm
A couple reasons why I like the show, its filmed on location in NO,well written with humor at times, the cast members. I like the lead actor,Scott Bakula ,watched him in his other TV show'Quantum Leap'89-'93.The other cast members are good Lucas Black,CCH POunder, Daryl Mitchell, Shalita Grant
I can watch the reruns couple times/wk.

I've been cooking creatively by incluiding some items that have long inhabited my freezer and pantry shelves. I've also been indulging my true love (baking) just a little bit. Made some biscotti and other cookies to shared with our kids (via mail and social distance pickup). I also made 16 pizzas yesterday. 15 are bagged up and in the freezer. Our daughter's family will get 8 of them when we see each other on Friday - from a proper social distance, of course.

Hubby and I each do a little something productive every day. Finally addressing some of those pesky, uninteresting little chores that keep getting put off. We've been clearing out some cabinets, closets and shelves - me in the house, him in the garage. There will always be more to do on that front, but any progress is better than none.

We're also watching old and oldish movies from that we never managed to see before. I've also been reading a lot without feeling even a twinge of guilt.

So far, so good.

Any time I cook its creative, maybe not eatable, but creative none the less. 🤣

Netflix is certainly keeping me sane. Learning some Chinese from my girlfriend is keeping my brain active. Jogging or walking with her is keeping me healthy. :giggle:

Pineapple upside-down cake.
Funny, I was just thinking about this. Haven't had it in years and if you make it with fresh pineapple and natural sugar replacement its a pretty good dessert overall. Don't eat much sugar so the regular version might be way too sweet I think, and lose the cherries...lol.

The positives for us would probably be the fact it "centers" your mind on "just" home projects...we have been cutting down some scrub brush trees around the big ones and planting. Those extra runs to the store kind of break up the day sometimes. Already have fresh home grown tomatoes and lots of fresh rosemary, oregano, lemon verbena, basil and chives for a delicious herb & olive oil dip.

Also moved a lot of books, added more bookshelves, and it really turned out great. Actually enjoying it. Of course we have a lot of land and its not a lot different from our normal lifestyle except for the family visits and being able to actually go to a fav restaurant.

But I love cherries, hmm, I’ll lose them to my tummy 😁
