If you could choose only ONE vocal singer, who would it be?

Suzanne Vega - not only does she have an amazing voice she has a great catalog of songs that would keep me entertained. She is also still putting out new material so she's staying interesting to me. Here is my favorite song from her.

 
I responded earlier in the thread with Aretha Franklin. She will always be my #1.
However - recently, I've been appreciating Joni Mitchell more and more.

my mother loved Jim reeves.. and through her being a fan , I've always enjoyed his music listening to it on the wireless when I was growing up. I've Never bought anything of his, but I know every word of most of his songs.

Jim-Ed Brown of the ''Browns'', used to do a brilliant version of JR songs...sounded just like him..they'd been friends back in the day

Although not it my top favorite singers I like Haley Reinhart a lot and think she is underrated. I actually think that she is dismissed for not finishing stronger on American Idol. I love her voice and the way she phrases the lyrics. My favorite song of hers is below.

 
If you have ever heard the late Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers sing “Unchained Melody,” I think you would agree that he had an excellent voice. The reason I went was because I had brought them to Las Vegas earlier that day from New York. It was my only flight that day, so instead of sitting in the hotel all evening, I grabbed a cab to the strip and went to their show.

What a wonderful memory and a rather cool experience. I've rarely met any musicians that I really love. I'm also in awe of their ability to create and/or perform music.

Bill Medley sang the song, “The Time of Our Life” from the movie “Dirty Dancing,” which was also really great. Jennifer Warner’s wasn’t there, but the girl that sang with him also did a really good job. It was one of the better concerts that I had attended in Vegas.
 
Las Vegas was one of my favorite places to fly to. I went to a lot of shows and had some great times in that town. The Smothers Brothers were hilarious. Zigfried and Roy was a great show. There was only one show that I can say really didn’t impress me and that was “The Blue Man Group.” I could have left after the first song (?). I also enjoyed Penn & Teller, Cher, Celine Dion, Lionel Richie and others.

The artist Dean Bourne is best of the best I’ve heard singing R O songs

After I read your post Kadee46,I looked up Dean Bourne.. He is truly amazing and he does remind me of Roy Orbison. Now I am going to listen to him over and over again.

Man, I need to do this. Flights and lodging are relatively cheap, even from the east coast...I think Southwest has LV as a hub.

I posted Jack Jones as one of my faves, and saw that he's still performing out there.
