Only once for me by my next door neighbor's dog. It happened the morning after it was returned from training school it had to go to for biting people. He got me on my left front thigh.
Yeah....the bigger the snake, the bigger their meals & the bigger the teeth to grab larger meals. My Boa Constrictor was 12 feet, but he was nice, never aggressive & never bit. And he loved being handled. Maybe that Python was ignored & was breathing Meth fumes & didn't like people. I'm glad my Boa was not aggressive. Look how many razor-sharp teeth a Boa has. And notice they're longer in the front - for grabbing prey.I was bit by a 6' Burmese Python who shot across his 6' cage, out of his coiled position, at the speed of light, as I wiggled a chicken leg, to get him interested. He was more interested in my hand. I pulled back, and he came with me. He hung onto my hand as I shook it. I could see his gross, little, vestigial legs at his side.
I got enraged, squeezed his jaw, on either side, as he started to coil around my arm. He let go, and fell to the floor. I kept saying, out loud, "He's not venomous!" I got my ski gloves, slid open the sunroom door, as he slid around in a bloodthirsty frenzy, and pounced on him, grabbing his head, firmly. Again, he started the coiling routine, but I was ready: I threw his coiled up body back into his cage, and slammed the side door shut! He furiously attacked the plexiglas.
He had belonged to a tenant who was busted for possession with intent to distribute. I found the snake hissing, behind a dresser, when I went to empty the rent house he was in. I was going to take him to the classroom where I taught Biology. After the bite, no way, Jose! The drug guy sent over a buddy to get him.
These days, when I reflect on that fifteen minute incident, I am truly amazed that I left the snake, sliding back and forth in the closed sunroom, got my gloves, and went back in to jump on him! Yeah, I guess we all do stupid things, at times. It must have been the adrenaline that was coursing through my veins!
Yep! The drug dealer dealt weed, and kept the snake as a showpiece. It had never been socialized, as much as a snake can be. The guy was busted for not showing up for his sentencing. He had been busted, originally, for forty pounds, coming over the border. They grabbed him on Sixth Street, Austin's Entertainment District.Yeah....the bigger the snake, the bigger their meals & the bigger the teeth to grab larger meals. Neighbours dog across the street decided to pay me a visit (in my own yard) and nip me. I was in my single digits, and mom made it clear to the neighbours that it better not ever happen again. No rabies shot or anything.Only once for me by my next door neighbor's dog. It happened the morning after it was returned from training school it had to go to for biting people.
