I don’t think it’s so much the flow of the weapons as it is people’s mindset. What are they thinking? If I am in a gang and I see a member of another gang on my turf, it’s my responsibility to shoot him. If a small child gets in the way, so what? They become collateral damage. That’s the way the gang mentality works.Simple reason, the authorities have given up. They will never stop the illegal flow of weapons anymore then they will end poverty.
Yes they have and have been for a long time too as you probably know. They've all gone mad.
Not a word of protest from BLM about all these ? I suppose ? These black lives do not matter ?
The amount of guns out there means people settle their arguments with them.
We live in a very rural area, and virtually every household has guns....I have several. However, in the 18 years we've lived here, I can only recall one shooting....a woman shot her abusive husband, and was given probation.
It's not the guns....rather, it is the idiots. Every time I watch the TV news, I'm glad we live here. Now, with this virus, and the unemployment numbers so high, I expect the carnage to only get worse.
You make a good point, but here is what I learned while riot training at the FBI Academy. During a Q&A session, someone asked one of the Special Agents that presented the course the following question. (It's not verbatim. My memory isn't that good anymore.) "What about calling up the National Guard or even the military during times of unrest?"Troops or police at intervals don't thwart folks, and troops without riot training don't deter people.
Troops or police hampered by limitations imposed on them by their hierarchy
become spectators.
A cluster of troops or police that will take no guff, and do not hesitate to do their job is a scary scene.
If their not allowed to do their job, they 'scare' nobody.
The situations in our large cities are out of control. It will be difficult to put the genie
back in the bottle.
Let the people currently in place do their job.
