I hear you!Yes, singing voice has changed from second soprano to somewhere just above alto. If I live to be in my 90’s I will be sitting with the basses![]()
I, too, was wondering what was meant by mature. No change, other than it's gotten more mature.
From the time I was in my early teens, I was told by many that I had a mature voice. When I asked my mom what people meant, my mom replied, "your voice sounds much older than a teen".
Have you had your hearing checked lately? I need to.yes---they say i am mumbling---well i got news for them i cant hardly hear them
I smoked for a lot of years too but quit cigarettes a year-and-a-half ago.Mine definitely change as a result of heavy smoking.
Hi Twinkies....I have 2 hearing aid's....I had to get them a couple of years ago....My family had to shout to me....i am totally deaf in one ear from menieres and tinitus in both ears--maybe one day i will break down and get a hearing aid--i want one that fits in the ear
When my friend talks, to me it is barely a whisper. When we are in a car and he is driving and looking straight ahead I can hardly hear him with the sound of traffic and the car noise itself. It must be awfully frustrating for him because I'm too embarrassed to keep asking him to repeat himself. So I don't answer and I guess he thinks I'm ignoring him. I can hear high pitched voices. I can't hear low pitched voices. I stopped going to funerals because I cant hear a word clearly especially through a loud speaker system. Strangely enough if the minister is speaking without a microphone I can hear it pretty well. People tell me to get a hearing aid. I've tried them. The problem is background noise. You can't eliminate that with a hearing aid or tinnitus which I also have. At night when one of our T.V. stations sign off, they use a high pitched sound. I suppose that's for t.v. technicians to adjust t.v. sets.yes---they say i am mumbling---well i got news for them i cant hardly hear them
Congratulations, @Ruthanne! Not an easy thing to do as every former smoker on this forum will agree.I smoked for a lot of years too but quit cigarettes a year-and-a-half ago.
I try to drink more water and I don't drink milk but do eat cheese...I wonder if cheese can effect one's voice.yes for the worse. It is raspy and higher. I hate it...but nothing can be done I am told.
Drink more water, less milk, a few tips. Inhalators can change the voice in long run.
I do know what you mean by that.No change only added grunts & moans first thing in the morning.
Mine has gotten lower. I've been mistaken for a man a time or two. When I was in my younger years I had a very high voice. Over the years it has steadily gotten deeper. It is a lot deeper than when I was younger now but not quite as deep as Maude's was!
So have you noticed a change in your voice?
Same here. And sound like Sam Elliot & possibly sport the same mustache. LOL!Yes, singing voice has changed from second soprano to somewhere just above alto. If I live to be in my 90’s I will be sitting with the basses![]()
I haven't noticed a change and nobody has mentioned it. My voice was never high, but I imagine now in my 60s that it's probably lower than it used to be. I did smoke for around 15 years, but quit over thirty years ago....don't think smoking had any effect in my case. When I was in my younger years I had a very high voice. Over the years it has steadily gotten deeper. It is a lot deeper than when I was younger now but not quite as deep as Maude's was!
