Have You Noticed Your Voice Has Changed Since Growing Older?

When I was in my younger years I had a very high voice. Over the years it has steadily gotten deeper. It is a lot deeper than when I was younger now but not quite as deep as Maude's was!:ROFLMAO:;)

So have you noticed a change in your voice?

No change, other than it's gotten more mature.

From the time I was in my early teens, I was told by many that I had a mature voice. When I asked my mom what people meant, my mom replied, "your voice sounds much older than a teen".

I, too, was wondering what was meant by mature.

Hmmmm.........yes, I've always had a truly rich voice, better and better as I got older, especially when singing, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra always tried to mimic me, but they never really succeeded. I am of course telling you a pack of lies. 😊

i am totally deaf in one ear from menieres and tinitus in both ears--maybe one day i will break down and get a hearing aid--i want one that fits in the ear
Hi Twinkies....I have 2 hearing aid's....I had to get them a couple of years ago....My family had to shout to me....
When I worked in a School my desk was right near the Bell...If the alarm went off they never gave us when the alarm had to go off
for the school had to evacuate...Even when it was a false alarm....
When I retired, my ears got worse....My left one is very bad and sometimes I can't put the hearing aid in that ear....Doctor says I have
a scabish lump....whatever that means.....So I use my right ear all the time but not in bed....After all of this stuff happening I haven't
gone to the Doctor....

yes---they say i am mumbling---well i got news for them i cant hardly hear them
When my friend talks, to me it is barely a whisper. When we are in a car and he is driving and looking straight ahead I can hardly hear him with the sound of traffic and the car noise itself. It must be awfully frustrating for him because I'm too embarrassed to keep asking him to repeat himself. So I don't answer and I guess he thinks I'm ignoring him. I can hear high pitched voices. I can't hear low pitched voices. I stopped going to funerals because I cant hear a word clearly especially through a loud speaker system. Strangely enough if the minister is speaking without a microphone I can hear it pretty well. People tell me to get a hearing aid. I've tried them. The problem is background noise. You can't eliminate that with a hearing aid or tinnitus which I also have. At night when one of our T.V. stations sign off, they use a high pitched sound. I suppose that's for t.v. technicians to adjust t.v. sets.
That pitch is perfect for me. It masks the tinnitus perfectly.

yes for the worse. It is raspy and higher. I hate it...but nothing can be done I am told.
Drink more water, less milk, a few tips. Inhalators can change the voice in long run.

I try to drink more water and I don't drink milk but do eat cheese...I wonder if cheese can effect one's voice.

Mine has gotten lower. I've been mistaken for a man a time or two.

I haven't noticed a change and nobody has mentioned it. My voice was never high, but I imagine now in my 60s that it's probably lower than it used to be. I did smoke for around 15 years, but quit over thirty years ago....don't think smoking had any effect in my case.
