I like no sugar added very cherry fruit cocktail. Iāve actually never thought of nuking the sandwich to melt the cheese,I start with half of a Joseph's low carb pita bread, an ounce of deli ham, turkey or Hofmann's bologna, and a slice of American cheese.
I used to be a double Hellman's mayo person but now I content myself with mustard, hot chili garlic sauce, or a tiny squirt of blue cheese or Italian salad dressing.
Sometimes I stuff in some lettuce, tomato, chopped olives, onion, hot pepper rings, etc...
A good shake of black pepper, garlic powder, or oregano helps to liven things up a little.
If it's a plain cheese or meat and cheese sandwich I like to nuke it for about 15 seconds to melt the cheese.

These sandwiches with a side of microwaved vegetables and or a fruit snack cup packed in juice are showing up more and more often on the menu these days.
That's my favorite hot sandwich also, next is a french dip..One thing about sandwiches, both dear husband and I prefer hot sandwiches over cold.
My very favourite hot sandwich... a Reuben!
That's what I do too if I go to Subway which is extremely rare... and also at the Kebab take-away or McDonalds or KFC..... no this , no that and the other thing , until there's only one thing left..I like plain and simple. That's why Subway doesn't appeal to me- I'd be paying a lot and asking them to leave nearly everything off.
To me, an ideal sandwich would be two slices of thin white, rye, or pumpernickel bread- or a kasier roll or an egg or onion bagel; a nice amount of mayonnaise; and some type of coldcut/lunchmeat.
They are so, so good, aren't they, Becky! That's my favorite hot sandwich also, next is a french dip..
Everything but the jalapeƱos, canāt do spicy.Butter Bread with Deli honey ham & turkey, thin sliced sweet yellow onion, tomato, lettuce, swiss cheese, Miracle Whip on the meat side and creamy French dressing on the veggie side with Lawry's Season Salt & fine ground pepper. Add a cold crisp garlic pickle and sliced jalapenos and a couple pepperoncini peppers and baked potato chips.
Welllll...yesterday, I had a hot ground turkey sandwich, with Best Foods Mayonnaise, and a thick-sliced tomato. Two slices of whole grain bread.I like two slices of bread, miracle whip on each side of bread, and one slice bologna, sometimes with cheese and/or lettuce. My husband likes three different kids of meat, piled high, and whatever else we have around. What do you put on your sandwiches?
Ground turkey sandwich? So do you make a patty and fry it?Welllll...yesterday, I had a hot ground turkey sandwich, with Best Foods Mayonnaise, and a thick-sliced tomato. Two slices of whole grain bread.
So good, I could do it again, today. I don't "do" lunch meats, and if having cheese, it's cut off a block of Tillamook Cheddar, and melted.
