Just joined and I've seen that a couple of other people live in the UK. Just wondering how many. :)

Do you mean moi?

I'm not a lady. A lady is the wife of a gentlemen with the title of Sir, being a knight of the realm.
I'll have you know that I am a dame of the empire in my own right, albeit self appointed.

And I have a fine set of pointy teeth.

I'm not a lady either. :D

Scotland intriques me.. ever since I read The Outlander.. Love the accent by the way.

Have you read the whole series? I love it! Are you watching the tv series? We have yet to get it here in the UK even though it was filmed here. I have seen the first 5 episodes though as I was visiting the US when they were showing.

Aye, do love the accents. Don't really notice my dh's any more though.

Yes... I certainly have... I fell madly in love with Jamie and Claire from the very start. I can just hear Jamie's Scottish growl... Diana Gabaldon is masterful!!

Me too! What do you think of the tv series? I think the casting was perfect, although Jamie does not have the cats eyes as described often in the books.

Why? Quite a few from across the pond post on UK forums!

A quick browse of topics when I joined yesterday lead me to believe most were likely in the US - like US unemployment rate, small town America, etc. Was just curious. I've been on several boomer forums - some mostly American, some mostly British, some mixed. So far I'm enjoying this one much more than the others.

I confess to not having watched the TV series... I don't watch much TV.. I prefer the images Gabaldon has painted in her writings.. I think I stopped the series after The Firey Cross.. when Jaime and Claire came to the US.

Are you American? What part of the US are you from?

I've read all 8. It does get better and better. The Fiery Cross was difficult to get through during the first half, but got dramatic later. You're missing a lot if you don't read the rest - like their daughter's adventures!

Yes, I'm American. Originally Michigan but also MA, FL and finally TN before moving to Scotland in 2000 (marriage).

Yes... I confess I didn't get all the way through the Firey Cross.. it was boring.. I thought I was just tired of the series.. I think I may pick it up again.. and also read the others.
