Or "hi guys", as if we were in the same social group as the waiter. Just seems a little out-of-place, as the wait staff is usually in the same age group as our grand-children. However, when supermarket staff offers to help me take my groceries to my car, I feel like telling them: "you should know that I can out-run and out-box you..."A waitress that addresses a mixed group as "you guys".
Oh I like that...It's a Jersey thing!A waitress that addresses a mixed group as "you guys".
I say "If I cared any less I'd be dead"..."I could care less."....ugh. Makes me cringe. The correct expression is "I couldn't care less."

So now can we use the old "all kidding aside" gambit?I'm just kidding, I love being facetious, a huge character flaw of mine! I also tend to make self-deprecating remarks for humor or modesty, which sometimes is misinterpreted as...I don't know, having "low self-esteem" or some such.
