Rather a crappy subject, but....

I buy nothing but Purex, but one roll a few weeks back pulled off the roll only as a single ply, with the inner ply being factory rolled in a pattern different (offset) than that of the perforations on the outer ply.

What the heck are they doing to toilet paper? This last batch we got is so narrow it only takes up a little over half the paper roll. The last two times we’ve switched makers and it’s still the same. Are they making full size rolls anymore?
Desperate in Florida for big rolls TP...Now this might do it.

Just more of the "incredible shrinking product". Bet the price didn't drop though.

I had the same complaint - the rolls getting more & more narrow & 2 inches of spool showing on either side of the roll.
Guess what? The brand "Quillted Northern" makes an "Extra Wide" roll - 4.5 inches wide. I've never found it in stores - only on Amazon. But it's cheaper there, anyway. It fits the spool well. It also fits......."you" well......:)

I'm guessing that the cut length has changed to add one more roll. Same process same cost to consumer but increased profit for manufacturer. About 5 minutes into this video an example of the cutting process show up.

I'm a Charmin fan but what bought since virus/TP crisis not same. Where a couple of squares used to do the job it now takes several more. I'm definitely looking at changing brands

The Quilted Northern I mentioned above is triple ply, so it takes less.

why do dogs scoot across the floor like that? i had a big ole lab and he never did that --my daughter has a bull dog/terrier and he does it a lot
My Vet explained that dogs have an anal sac on either side of the anus that needs to be emptied. Groomers will sometimes empty them.
Sometimes a dog will empty it on the grass outside, other times the carpet in the house is convenient. Scooting a bottom across the floor is a common dog behavior often indicative of an anal sac issue. Anal sacs may become clogged or injured for a variety of reasons, which can lead to scooting. Visiting your vet is recommended to ensure scooting isn't due to a serious issue like allergies or parasites.

We always use Scott, 1,000 sheets per roll, single ply. But a few years ago it did get narrower and the perforation between the sheets has gotten cheap and terrible, doesn't tear like it use to, quality has gone down and price has gone up.....like with many things these days.

I made an interesting discovery: Moisture causes problems with the paper. When you take showers with the bathroom door closed, the steam has an effect on the toilet paper. It makes it wrinkly & it won't tear at the perforations.
How's that for "Scientific?"

That makes for a rather crappy situation. :)
