Do You Know Anyone with Autism?

My nephew functions high enough to be mainstreamed as a sophomore in a small private high school, but I'm not sure he'll be able to handle college.

He was vaccine injured. His initial post vaccine symptoms following a round of multiples at 18 months were fever and listlessness. He deteriorated rapidly following that day; within two weeks, he lost from 20+ words to one word. He went from a gregarious, happy little boy to sitting in corners staring at the wall for hours and quit making eye contact with us. Sensory issues went through the roof.

We know now that he has familial autoimmune disorders which probably predisposed him to vaccine injury ...but can't know for sure due to the paucity of research. Unfortunately, there are no screening mechanisms in place to determine at risk children due to the lack of research although it's known that inherited factors such as mitochondrial disorder predispose children to vaccine injury. Much of US medical research is funded by the pharmaceutical industry and they have nothing to gain from conducting further safety studies because they have liability immunity for vaccines. The pharmaceutical industry also tops the charts for lobbying the US Congress which logically has an impact on oversight.

I shared my nephew's story in another thread on SF and was put on ignore by a member because of it. One of the saddest internet moments for me because my nephew's injury and the pain it has and is still causing him and those who love him was too much for someone to handle who had picked 'sides' in a polarized issue. I disliked binary thinking many years before my nephew's injury; I most certainly hate it now.
Don't be concerned about being put on "Ignore." It means more about the immaturity of the other person who often has a closed mind & is bothered by any challenge to his/her opinion or a truth they may not want to hear.

It wasn't that I was put on ignore ...it was why. There was no heated discussion that led to it. I simply shared my nephew's story which is a painful one for me. The 'ignore' thing compounded that pain. It wouldn't bother me a bit for someone to ignore me for any other reason.

We all need to learn a little more compassion.

Man, Annie, that's horrific
And yer post is hugely informative in regard to big pharma and liability
Makes total sense

Such information really bothers those who have medical professionals in their families. Similar to relatives of police officers who hate to hear about police misconduct & brutality.

Our family is chock full of medical professionals--some want to understand, some don't-- but this SF member wasn't. He was a healthy lifestyle 'preacher' and had decided that vaccines were 'good' scripture. And truly, vaccines are not harming the majority of kids. What we need is more, more and more research to determine why they do harm some and then screen for those factors.

It has been scientifically proven by the medical profession that vaccines do not cause autism regardless of what Bill Gates and his ilk put out there. Read Johns Hopkins findings on this.

What are you talking about, Lew? Since when are Bill & Melinda anti-vaxxers?

A little boy with autism got separated from his mother in a mall just on the outside of Pittsburgh. We didn’t know if the child had wondered off or was taken. There were at least 20 Troopers with multiple other policemen and deputies from several departments searching for the child.

As it turned out, he had crawled into an open cabinet under a perfume bar in the cosmetic section of a large department store and fell asleep. It wasn’t until he woke up a few hours later and crawled back out of the cabinet that the clerk found him. All ended well and that’s what was most important.

It is a known fact that he refused to have his children vaccinated due to the so called autism fears.

It's a hoax, Lewkat. Here ya go:

This article has been updated to include a response from NewsPunch.

________
An article claiming that Bill Gates refused to vaccinate his own children has been circulating online through various websites. Examples ( here ) and ( here ).

The article seems to originate from YourNewsWire (now called NewsPunch) in 2018, which has since been deleted. NewPunch.com’s editor confirmed to Reuters that the article was removed when YourNewsWire moved to Newspunch in 2018. “Our editorial standards have changed significantly from the time that article was published, and we no longer stand by the statements made in the article,” the publication said.

The article was written by a Baxter Dmitry, a possible pseudonym for an author who has been criticized for writing fake news articles (called out by Poynter here ). The website YourNewsWire has also been criticized for producing inaccurate content ( here ). Dmitry is still a frequent contributor to NewsPunch ( newspunch.com/author/baxter/ ).

The article circulating online claims that Bill Gates’ personal doctor told a medical symposium in Seattle that the Microsoft founder refused to vaccinate his children. It quotes the doctor as saying: “I don’t know if he had them vaccinated as adults, but I can tell you he point blank refused to vaccinate them as children. They were gorgeous kids, really smart and vivacious, and he said they would be OK as it was, they didn’t need any shots.“

The article does not provide further information relating to sources, such as the name of the doctor or the event. It says: “The comments caused a stir among physicians at the symposium with claims he was breaking doctor-patient confidentiality.” It is likely this would have been reported on by news outlets at the time, had it been true. Reuters could not find any other information or references relating to this claim from major news organizations.

Bill and Melinda Gates are known for their efforts in developing and distributing vaccination around the world through global health initiatives at their eponymous foundation ( here ).

Melinda Gates confirmed in an April 2019 Facebook post that all three of her children have been fully vaccinated ( here ).

VERDICT
False. There is no evidence to show Bill Gates refused to vaccinate his own children. The article was written by an author known for publishing fake news and the original story has been deleted.

About Vaccine or medications messing with a person's body.
My oldest son will not take any drugs/shots if he can avoid them.

We are slowly learning that in my husband's family several cannot take medications with out bad side effects.
Vaccines work by tricking the immune system, so it's logical that some people will be harmed by them.

Thanks for setting the record straight. There's a lot of crap on the internet. Just because somebody posts something doesn't make it true.

Both of our sons were vaccinated for all child hood diseases.

I am talking about prescribed drugs.
In the pass 2 months my husband has been given 'scribes for Terazosin, 5 mg. ,, few days of taking this had him dizzy.
Called doctor who said stop taking it.

Next appointment doctor gave him a scribe for Losartan 25 mg.
Was on that 10 days,, dizzy again,, almost fell down the stairs.
Stopped taking them,, see the doctor this week.

My theory is that its whatever the drug companies use for' binder' in making pills may be the problem.

Another possibility is that the sales reps for the companies come around and promote certain drugs to the doctors and in return the doctors get certain benefits. Maybe the sales reps were promoting both of them. You can usually go online and find their chemical formula, broken down. That's how I found out that the drug they were giving me for high blood pressure had sulfa in it. I'd told the doctor I couldn't have sulfa. It swells me up and gives me rashes. The doc insisted it was fine. It wasn't. I stopped taking it and found another doctor. Ten years later it came out on the news that the drug that had caused me problems did indeed have sulfa in it. I could have died.

Boy, I'll say, Butterfly! With all the fascinating things that come to us via the Internet, there's always the danger that someone is selling us a bill of goods. There's usually no way to tell, other than by googling or using some other search engine. And what a nuisance, to have to check every word we read!

There are ways to find things out. We can sign up for newsletters from WebMd, the Mayo Clinic, NASA etc. In terms of things about other people there are folks out there who make false statements to make their points.

According to the Delphi Institute, Bill Gates' doctor emphatically stated that his kids were not vaccinated. He also stated that he did not know if they had vaccinations as adults or not. No need to get snarky about all this. Try being civil once in a while.

@Phoenix ,, where did you go on the 'web to find your information?

Hubby & I saw ad in local newspaper that there is a new doctor in town.
Seems all the local doctors practice out of the same area in our hospital.
Bit awkward to change doctors.

Here's a reminder about doctors.
Ever notice those certificates on their walls, that read?
Doctors Practicing Medicine?

Key word being,,, PRACTICING?
