Would you eat a snake? Pythons might become a new menu item in Florida.

Pythons might become a new menu item in Florida if scientists can confirm they're safe to eat.

The predator might soon become the prey if Florida scientists can confirm that Burmese pythons -- an extremely invasive species in the Everglades -- are safe for us to eat.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is collaborating with the Florida Department of Health to investigate the mercury levels in pythons to determine if they can be safely consumed. If so, the snakes may soon end up on restaurant menus and dinner tables across the state.

I've eaten rattle snake and gator tail before, but never python.

I hope something can be done to rid the Everglades of them as they are eating all the other animals and have no natural predators that keep their population down.

I hope our, Win 231, doesn't catch wind of this! :)
I hate to tell y'all, but anyone who has eaten chicken or any foul has already eaten reptiles without knowing it.
Reptiles evolved from birds. Look at a lizard's feet & look at a bird's feet; they're the same for a reason.

"The first groups of reptile-like animals evolved about 320 million years ago. ... These evolved over the next 65 million years into modern birds. So birds aren't just closely related to dinosaurs, they really are dinosaurs! And they are most closely related to crocodiles, which also came from archosaurs."

From everything I have read and been told, the texture as well as flavour of snake, is very similar to that of chicken.
