are in for more social unrest with the announcement of no charges against police who shot Jacob Blake seven times.
Listeing to the explanation of the reasons why they aren’t bringing charges makes sense, but....
I surely don’t know the answer to this problem either. I can well understand where the minorities are coming from to. There have been way too many unjustified police shootings. I’m just not 100% sure this was one of them. Praying for peace and calm

I watched his 3 hour press conference. The family and friends are peacefully protesting and I respect that. I know it’s not what they wanted to hear. I probably wouldn’t either if it were my son
So far all is quiet and peaceful, thank God

I just heard about a Milwaukee UPS driver who went on a racist rant when leaving a pckg at the home of a Latino Milw. police officer; are you hearing about that much, Kathleen?

While Local people may have a peaceful protest ...
I wish people would realize for many in other cities etc it is just an excuse to cause trouble and riot.

I do not understand why more of those pushing these type events paying protesters , providing signs and or weapons need to be found and publicly exposed as well as charged with any item that resulted from their riot business.
We never get all the details ..... there is always more to the story.
I watched a very interesting video of a person who used to lead a bunch of protesters ..... He was invited to do a police simulation course........ In 2 of the 3 scenes he would have been killed and his view on the subject Changed dramatically.

Just heard about that tonight too... and not sure how I fell about his getting fired either. He was talking to himself and got caught on a home camera. It wasn’t like he was ranting AT someone. And actually, from what I could tell, he wasn’t “ranting,” he was muttering. Should people be fired for their unacted upon own thoughts? Will he ever find a job because he muttered a remark, possibly in frustration after a ling day?

There is a HUGE difference between protesting and rioting...huge. I am all for protesting...it can and has moved mountains. It keeps people from just sweeping injustices under the rug and forgetting they ever happened. Rioting is just another form of evil and hatred

Yes it should go without saying there is a huge difference ..... however there seems to be many whom use the cover of "protest" to cause problems and want to blur the line between the two. Especially if they can use a news story as cover.

The Violent BLM protests that occurred early last year only served to harden peoples attitudes, and resulted in large numbers of good police resigning. Now, with this virus running rampant, any such massive protests would probably become another "super spreader" incident.

Somehow so many protests and such were not considered as spreaders although any other gatherings were.......
I just think that social media and misinformation in these instances just run amok....... local cities or towns having protest is fine (if they have skin in the game).........................
But when it is clear across the country in a different state / city it takes a few days to "hire"..........I have seen the "job" listings to protest etc.
Look at arrest records in many places those arrested did not even live in city or state they were "protesting" in.

On the other hand .................................If this does not happen then perhaps it was not about justice last summer....... but to create a narrative ..................or perhaps show people how violent it Could get if you don't play along......

But if only the people in local areas are ever allowed to protest, so many things wouldn't have happened, for instance we'd never have gotten our independence from Britain, we'd never have freed the slaves in the South; we'd never have freed Europe from the Nazis and other dictatorships!

Your a cop, you locate a person with a felony warrant-he goes to jail, period.
But, But, But, there were three cops as the scene and they could not stop him from getting into the car.
Yea, he had a knife, but still: three cops, one guy with a knife.
The male obviously had no intention of following the cops direction, and he had a knife in his hand-very bad decisions on his part/
Bad decisions on the cop's part
Just bad all the way around

Yes, for sure. And the media plays right into their hands. I’m getting very anti media is my old age!!!

Very! And the guy is paying a very high price for his mistake. I doubt this incident will be easy for the policeman to live with either. As you said, “bad all the way around “

Oh I agree Office! I would go to another city or state to join a protest I believed in...in a heartbeat. I did protest when I was younger, but now I’m afraid I couldn’t get out of harms way fast enough if things took a turn. Isn’t that too bad? Instigators who are brought in for the sole purpose of stirring up trouble ruin it for everybody. Maybe I should start up a protest against instigators!!!!

The difference is most in history, Knew what they were protesting about (often seen on the street interviews that could not articulate what they were protesting about) and it seldom devolved into riots/ looting.

Craigs list ads for per diem pay to travel to protest in other cities they have No connection to.. .....if organic there should be people in those cities supporting the cause.
Often bricks / spray paint / signs and such included....... sometimes bail money ......sometimes not ..... that plan is premeditated. u -hauls or vans photographed dropping off pallets of water bottles or bricks....... this is not an organic gathering for a specific cause.

if you live in a peaceful town you may feel for the person , follow the media on story .........
but many do NOT see that they are often getting cherry picked information and instances painted in a different light....
Think back at previous instances many are still believing items promoted but proven as false information.

it is using past protests as cover and plausible deniability

I'm the first to criticize a cop's bad decisions. But I wouldn't expect any cop to risk getting slashed or stabbed or clubbed. If three cops tried to subdue him, at least one of them would have been cut.

Once a racist rant like that goes viral Kathleen, companies want to distance themselves from the perpetrator. They don't want to be seen as upholding a bigoted employee. It's about image and UPS has plenty of applicants waiting to be hired, so no real loss to them. As many news stories as there have been about deliverymen being caught doing things on camera, maybe he should've realized he might wind up being one of them.

And maybe we need to be more worried about what's going on in the capitol right now. Notice how differently these protesters are being handled (or not handled)?! If they were Black, there'd be tons of bodies right now. People need to wake up, get their heads out of the sand and realize there are different laws for different folks (in practice). I still say cops can shoot to disable. Seven shots in the back was excessive. I wish I had a dollar for every cop who did an unjustified shooting and got away with it!

Seven shots in the back was WAY excessive, IMHO! Actually, ANY shot in the back is excessive.

Yes, this is true. The whole obsession with black people is bound to cause more resentment and fuel more attacks on them. It's happening here in the UK.
If you watch British tv these days, you could be forgiven for thinking you have migrated to Africa. Whites are getting pushed aside and being replaced with blacks.

Three/four years ago I talked with an ex-girlfriend living in Birmingham , [her birthplace] and she stated it was happening then. She was thinking about moving back here, then her mother died, and she and a younger sister were left the house. Game changer .

So it would seem that blacks' complaints about racism are not justified. They still see themselves as victims.

I don't wish to argue with you, However: when it comes to American Black citizens who arrived in 1619, you are wrong. You obviously are not familiar with American Black history here and I urge you to read & study as the past is always present.
