Was talking with the cop friend of mine I noticed a hugh flock of black birds overhead.
I mention this to the cop and he's looking up says "YUP,those are a Murder of Crows"

Im looking at him "WHAT?"
He says "whenever there is a murder nearby these birds always show up".

Stratching my head .......
"are you chitting me?'

Walking on the way to his house,he's laughing like hell...
Took me a minute to figure it out.
Like a flock of birds these are called Crows :A congress of crows, a murder of crows .

Far more likely to be rooks. Crows are solitary birds, and rarely more than family parties.

"More than two cows is rooks, and if ye see one rook i's a crow"

Thaw correct term is a Parliament of Rooks, when a flock of rooks will gather which much vocal noise and "discussion, for a period of time, and then they will set to and peck one of their number to death.

It's the only thing in the natural world remotely similar to a human execution, killing not for food, territory, mating or fear, just a community killing.

A wake of buzzards - how appropriate.

A bed of clams - not very comfortable.

A prickle of porcupines - again, appropriate

A generation of vipers - sounds like Washington D.C.

I learned the other day that Blue Jays are from the crow family.

When I was a kid we had a blue jay that became very friendly, to the point where we could hand-feed him. We called him "Beep-Beep" because he would land on the back porch hand-rail and go "beep-beep!" when he was hungry.

We spoiled him - we started off giving him bread crusts and ended up making little peanut butter/cracker appetizers for him.

Very, neat story Phil;) We had lots of blue-jays around, and the funniest story I have about them is something my grand-dad loved to do. We would go camping with them often, and grandpa loved to tease the blue-jays. He would tie a string to a tree, then wrap a little bread at the end. Those blue-jays would try and try to pick it up then fly off. They always got lots of treats, so although we had a bit of fun with them, they were well rewarded, lol;)

I think your Beep Beep must have sounded like RoadRunner, LOL! Yep, the squirrels were always about too;)

LOL, actually he sort of did!

We hand-fed the squirrels as well, at least until one of the babies chomped down on my thumb - that dulled my enthusiasm for hand-feeding.
