Drug Dealer Executes New Mexico Cop

I have become all too desensitized to this sort of thing, as most Canadians have.

It happens with such frequency in the USofA, it's just another shooting in my books.

Another day in the good ole USofA.

Quote by Devi:
Just wanted to point out that there are far fewer people in Canada than the USA.
Yes indeed, but here in Canada everyone isn't allowed to pack guns, therein lies the difference, nothing at all to do with population.

Okay. Although I have a friend in Canada who indeed has a gun.
Sure, we have guns, too, Devi, most households do (households... at home, not out on the street), but unlike the USofA where everyone is allowed to gallivant around with their guns, we're not allowed to do that in our country.

Every... single... day in the USofA, 316 people are shot... every... single... day.

106 of them die, every... single.. day.

Flags were still flying half-mast in the USofA for the horrific murder of 8 people in Georgia, when 10 more lives were taken in a mass murder in Colorado, and though you probably didn't hear about it, between those two shootings (less than one week apart), there was more than 850 (MORE) additional shootings in the USofA, which took the lives of more than 250 people.

It's an epidemic in the USofA.

It's not the guns. It's the PERSON behind the gun!
Or knife, or axe or drugs or whatever!
Any action taken to ban firearms is a step toward gun registration and gun confiscation. This will destroy the 2nd amendment for legal gun owners to have defense weapons, much needed with the "defunding police".
Please do not allow any of these "gun laws " to go through.
There will come a day when the Constitution will hang by a thread! Please don't let this happen!

I respectfully disagree, Gaer.

That's a cop-out... a cover up. You're only fooling yourself with your words, you're not fooling the world.

It's become too simple for those behind the 2nd amendment to attempt to build a case for, but the truth of the matter tells me differently.

Fuzzybuddy, posted a reply in another thread a couple of days ago that not only trumps everything I have ever read from anybody, but his words sum it all up the best that I could ever dream of.

Here is the thread if anyone is interested in reading post # 23.

"Guns don't kill, people do".

Fuzzybuddy, ads, "Well, if you follow that logic atomic bombs don't kill, people do, so everybody aught to be able to have their own nuke"

Marg, You and agree on almost everything, and I love ya dearly
but
You're not going to change my mind on this!
and
I'm not going to change your mind.
The LAST person I would ever quote would be the current President!
The easiest way to control and take over a country is to disarm it.
Again, We MUST protect the second amendment!

You might be interested to read why guns are so rare in the UK. The report is by NBC.
Not only do the police not carry firearms, nor do security guards or anyone that might need some sort of defensive weapon.

Then perhaps a better approach would be to educate children in school on the proper use of guns, including responsible ownership.

Every time this subject comes up there is little said about the number of illegal weapons here. The scum that murdered the officer is riding around with an assault rifle and a semi automatic pistol. My money says neither gun was legal. The number of illegal weapons in America is in the millions. If after the horrific slaughter of little Sandy Hook school children in their school some years back changed little to nothing about gun ownership then nothing ever will be done.

A routine traffic stop turns fatal when the driver
of pickup truck kills the policeman who stopped
him.

And Then, some people wonder why some cops might exhibit "extreme" behavior when dealing with some of the people they have to "confront". Personally, being a cop is probably the Last job I would want....having to deal with so many of the nutcases that are running loose.

It has much to do with population. Fewer people, equals a reduced chance of having bad people. And it is a person that pulls the trigger.

IMO we need to focus our attention on crime and illegal firearms as opposed to restricting the rights of honest law-abiding Americans to own guns.

By some estimates, there are over 393,347,000 guns in the hands of United States citizens. The vast majority of those guns do absolutely no harm to anyone.

Sure, we have guns, too, Devi, most households do (households... at home, not out on the street), but unlike the USofA where everyone is allowed to gallivant around with their guns, we're not allowed to do that in our country.
All 4 of us have our concealed carry, and always have a weapon close at hand everywhere legally possible.
We haven't shot anyone yet...

A few things to consider for a fair balance. When the Bill of Rights was declared in full force and effect, the 2 so titled law enforcement Articles, the 2nd and the 4th did not apply to the states, so it was clearly, at least to me, a federal style militia issue, not a State organizational declaration.

I know this has been knocked around already, but if the Constitution were meant to be an all inclusive document for centuries, the Founders would not have included an Amendment process.

The 2nd has it's merits, but the undisputable facts are, gun violence is out of control.

Someone offer ANY Estoppel method of control!
