Only the blatant criminal doctors are caught & prosecuted. And not much happens to them, anyway, even when a doctor KILLS his patient.
Several doctors testified against Dr. Conrad Murray - which is rare. He served less than 2 years in prison after killing his patient (who was paying him $185,000.00 per MONTH.) And that not only included manslaughter, also fraudulent prescriptions & drug dealing.
And Jackson's other doctors who were also guilty were never prosecuted.
 
And here's another gem of an MD who destroyed countless lives: He owned his own cancer clinic & diagnosed and treated patients for cancer - who NEVER had cancer for huge $$$$, of course. And, to increase profits even more, he treated them with much-higher doses (under the guise of "Aggressive Treatment"). The toxic high-dose treatments destroyed his patients' bones and teeth, crippling many for life & causing some who couldn't take the pain & disability any longer to commit suicide. Some of his employees reported him & nothing was done for years - until ONE dedicated nurse (whom he fired in retaliation) wouldn't let up, then he was tried & convicted.
Oh & of course his wife was part of it, but they never charged her. She's free to enjoy their several mansions, private jets & fleet of Rolls Royces.
Had I been his patient & he ruined my life, I can guarantee he would have never made it to trial. I wouldn't have much to lose.

I just don't understand going through all those years of schooling, medical school then doing sh*t like this!! Career down the tubes, shame to the families (for those who have them) and a nice stint in jail IF they are prosecuted. But if not, life basically ruined. I hope she gets the punishment she deserves. She literally messed with peoples' lives!

In my view, there are two type of doctors.
One type is motivated to help the sick, while making a good living doing what they love.
The other type is motivated by money. To them, every patient is a dollar sign. They'll do whatever it takes to make more money - including harm.
I've met both.

Some doctors are just plain narcissistic and greedy. Saving lives gives them the false sense of being God.

This! The government's massive spending makes it a big, fat cash cow that almost begs to be milked by those less scrupulous, whether it be health care or some other big money sink.

"The Vast Majority" is a buzz phrase, often used to trivialize evil by people we like to think of as "Heroes." Also frequently used for criminal police officers - "The vast majority of cops are heroes, doing good work."
The fact is, no one knows how vast the majority is unless they've spent many hours doing research, which they haven't.
When someone uses the phrase "The Vast Majority," they are stating what they wish were true - not what they know to be true.
