The ability to detect stupidity in people and correct it.
You would probably blow the machine up trying on the first day, and then most of us would soon go back to "default settings"!The ability to detect stupidity in people and correct it.
Not on here! I will be hung from the rafters for stating my beliefs!Care to explain?
I have read many of your posts & understand a position you would take. My post wasn't to challenge faith, it was to have definitive proof either way. Wouldn't you be happy if the proof came down on the side of those with faith? Not on here! I will be hung from the rafters for stating my beliefs!
Knight, I will give you a quick personal message to briefly explain with no response required.I have read many of your posts & understand a position you would take. OK I'm pretty sure you will come down on the side of you don't need definitive proof you already are set in your belief.Knight, I will give you a quick personal message to briefly explain with no response required.
I think the question was about scientific discovery, which assumes that this discovery will apply to everyone. I was not thinking of only myself when I wrote the answer, but the whole human race. I am pretty confident that a discovery like this will "change the course of humanity." Now, if this discovery is for the good or for the bad, that's another topic of discussion.Just you?
If this is an insult, so be it. Nice to meet you as well. You would probably blow the machine up trying on the first day, and then most of us would soon go back to "default settings"!![]()
Sometimes you just have to wonder how folks have lived all these years-temporary insanity? If this is an insult, so be it. Nice to meet you as well.
An insult, but only one I'm applying to myself and other similarly stupid people, ("certainly not you").If this is an insult, so be it. Nice to meet you as well.
Yes...that would be a good topic for discussion. One con: If everybody lived forever we'd have a very overpopulated planet full of starving people. And God only knows how severe the negative impact on our environment would be. So the invention that allowed us to live forever would have to include a method to prevent those problems. Frankly, the thought of living forever, especially the way the world is going now is depressing.I think the question was about scientific discovery, which assumes that this discovery will apply to everyone. Live forever in this lifetime? WHY would anyone want this when the most magnificent wonders await us?Yes...that would be a good topic for discussion. I don't think he meant "you" you. Just "you", generally speaking. Misinterpretation is normal in forums! If this is an insult, so be it. Nice to meet you as well.
You're right in everything you wrote! But I was answering Bretrick's request in suggesting a scientific discovery. I was not saying that it was something I particularly cared for. Besides, we already have human cells that are immortal - growing in the lab. They will probably outlast all of us.Yes...that would be a good topic for discussion. Dear Gaer, I really like you and don't want to incite your anger (it sounds like you're angry). As I replied to OneEyedDiva, this suggestion was in answer to Bretrick's request about a scientific discovery that would change the course of humanity. I wasn't particularly enthralled with the idea, but I was more focused on the change that would happen. Yes, you have very good points, and I respect that and agree with everything you say. I am not afraid of death, and I do believe in a soul. But the way the world is going, technologically speaking, I'm afraid that we will one day reach that path. We're already growing human cells in labs and they are considered immortal. All the best!Live forever in this lifetime? WHY would anyone want this when the most magnificent wonders await us?
Don't you want to be young again? Don't you want new lives, new bodies, new chances, new opportunities?
Maybe live on better, higher worlds? Take everything you learned this life and utilize it in a higher, more evolved existence?
Why are people so afraid to die? Death is a wonderful transformation of your soul into a new, more wonderful YOU!
and it's BLISSFUL! and it's all YOUR CHOICES! You are YOU only better and better and better!
Don't be afraid of ANYTHING!
Why would anyone want to be installed in a vessel when the soul is free to soar in all unboundedness?
Hahaha! I sounded angry? Wow! I don't get angry! I'm sure sorry you got that impression!Dear Gaer, I really like you and don't want to incite your anger (it sounds like you're angry).
