Yap! Bettie Davis was a really great actress. See her in "Now Voyager" and you will know. She puts to shame 99% of the modern lady actresses. That lady had talent and she could act. She didn't need a darn music track when she walked around. Other great stars were Audrey Hepburn and of course, Miss Barbara Stanwyck. Boy, could those ladies act.
I don't think fantasy is dumb (not all of it anyway
), but I just can't seem to get very interested in it. Now some of the stuff I find relaxing on YouTube? Boy howdy, I gotta admit some of it's dumb!

Oh yeah! ANYTHING with Barbara Stanwyck! I've never seen "The Strawberry Blonde". Have to check that out!
Yes I did Pepper. I watched it every night for a week when it showed on Million Dollar Movie. I was a little girl then and it caused me to become fascinated with mermaids. I have watched it several times as an adult as well and managed to record the colorized version to DVD.
And, Don't ya love William Powell?
Yes...he was great in that. The dry humor was very funny. I can't remember if I've seen him in anything else.
I love William Powell and his dry humor! He played several movies with Myrna Loy as Nick Charles in The Thin Man, After the Thin Man, Another Thin Man, etc. Sort of detective style, problem solving murders, etc. Also played in My Man Godfrey.
Oh that's right. I believe I did see a couple of Thin Man movies. @Gaer
Love story was the first film I took my future wife to see, in 1976 I think it was, (could have been released here later?).
That was "Wuthering Heights", (no doubt about it!,Oh, it really does annoy me when I can't remember the title of a film, perhaps one of you fine people will help me.
