My thoughts on the World War.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for engaging in this thread, in this discussion. This is clearly a very distressing time for us all, following the news. Engaging in the discussion is, for me, a way to get some release from the stress. So, I definitely appreciate that.

And, you know, I want to wish all you nice folks, some kind of peace through the emotional mess that this situation has created.

I know that religion is a controversial subject. I am a believer. My mother and brother are not. My father was not either. So, I had that difficulty, right in my own family. Also, I have respect for those who believe and respect for those who do not believe.

I just want to offer my encouragement, as someone who does believe in God, about this situation.

I believe God is fully omnipotent. That there is no challenge to His power possible. And that he can change any situation at any time.

That the world is filled with great suffering certainly makes it difficult to believe in a caring and compassionate God. But, I believe that is, in fact, the case. And the real key there is that this life is just a very small part of a much larger existence. Our bodies die, but our souls do not die. Our bodies suffer, but through that suffering, we earn the right to an incredible, powerful spiritual reward.

Now, that is my belief and the belief of others. And I understand if it is not your own. I just want to encourage you of the possibility that there is always hope.

And now, I will offer a few extremely weird "coincidences" in history.

During the War of 1812, America decided its best defense against the British was defense against the British forces in Canada. This was a glaring error and allowed British troops to take control of Washington, DC. The war was basically lost. How did we win the war? Well, we didn't win the war, a tornado won the war. All of a sudden, an extremely powerful tornado hit Washington, DC, killing 5000 British troops and driving them from the city. How many tornadoes, that powerful have hit Washington, DC? I am not positive, but I am pretty sure that is the only one of that kind of power in recorded history. Coincidence? No, I don't believe it was.

During the Revolutionary War, the British sent over some very advanced Scottish snipers. One of them got General George Washington in his sights. Washington was done. But the sniper just changed his mind. He was so enamored of the great dignity of Washington's presence that he just could not pull the trigger. So, what changed his mind? Just coincidence? Or the intercession of God? What is the statistical possibility that a highly trained, elite military sniper, would just, out of the blue, decide not the kill the number one enemy of Britain? I don't think the statistics bear out that being at all likely.

July 4th, 1826 was the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It is also noted for something else. It is the day that both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died. Even though separated by a large age difference, both men died on the same day. Both men died on July 4th. And both men died on the July 4th that was the 50th anniversary of the founding of the nation. What are the odds of that happening. I did a quick overview of the math...and the possibility of all those things happening are easily far less than one in a billion, or even one in a trillion.

And these are just two examples...that push the boundaries of statistical possibility and, you know, may just be a hint of God's underlying power.

Again, I do apologize if the discussion of religion is annoying or difficult for folks.

And I do just want to wish everyone a peaceful heart through all this tragedy and misery.

The world is in a state of vulnerability now. The weapons being prepared in varied countries
will cause the formation of war preparedness. This lets the formation of thought to conceive the destruction.
These thoughts have set in motion this unmentionable agony.
A creation of the mind is powerful.
World War Three is now not only eminent. It has begun.
The thoughts of men are more powerful than anyone on Earth can imagine.

The love sent by the souls of Earth can change the events of man.
The love sent by the souls can put off the wars to other times.
The most urgent place of war on the Earth is China.
China will move to inhabit new areas. The movement will not be peaceful.
They will attack many places and will not be averted.
These souls have planned this to occur before they came to Earth.

The thought sent into the world is of enormous worth,.
This is not to be a prayer for oneself, but for all life on Earth.
God does not cause war or these occurrences.
God wills the thoughts of man to manifest into action upon the Earth.
Cry out not for ourselves but for the pain of humanity.
let your prayers be to help mankind.
World suffering is not necessary. The suffering is not a way of God.
Come into courage. into strong, powerful thoughts.

The world is not safe now. The war has begun.
The world will now see destruction as it has never before seen.
The government of the U.S. will have no money to hold up to the people.
Money in the U.S. will have no worth., no value.
The Mideast will war with America. Oil will be the reason.
North Korea will send nuclear armament to the surrounding islands, including Japan.
Russia will fight for armament and will join with China and Iran against the United States.
Heavenly entities will not interfere with what has been set in motion.

The world will be in a war as it has not before known.
All the world will be at war.
It won't last long. Famine will be widespread and water will be a worldwide concern.
This war will be horrific in display..
This will not change by any method., but thoughts and prayers may deter action.
This is already in movement on the Earth and will occur.

When the world loves again and gasps at the terrors and pains wrought upon
lands and people, war will end.

thank you for taking the time to offer us this powerful spiritual insight.

I completely respect your viewpoint on this. But I'm not a believer, at least not in God's direct intervention in these things. I'm sure the Christians of Kiev prayed mightily in 1240 to prevent the Mongols from capturing and sacking their city. But they did it anyway and killed all but 2000 of the inhabitants. Did God not hear their prayers?

BTW we didn't "win" the War of 1812. After the British burned the White House (the tornado killed "several" British troops, nothing like 5,000 -- British forces in the campaign only totaled 4,500) we defeated the British fleet on Lake Champlain and prevented an invasion from Quebec. After three years of fighting, both sides were sick of the war and agreed to the Treaty of Ghent, which basically left things the way they were before the war.

My Dad served in WWII. He used to say things like this to me, all the time.

But...what if death is not the end? What if dying in an honorable struggle IS the will of God?

Who knows?

Are we Ben Franklin? Maybe the geniuses know. But we are just doing our human best, right? I don't think any ordinary human being has ever grasped the entire complexity of the universe, existence, consciousness, etc.

many of those with power are rigid selfish ideologues of a range of political and economic ideologies that prefer to publicly hide their true agendas by using powerful media.

I'm hoping all the selfish powerful people will not like the economic impacts and will help end the war. On the other hand, since they always seem to have a lot of cash maybe they are loving the stock market being attractively low. I've been dithering about the market, I only just retired and have been super relieved that I'd listened to the free financial advisor last year who told me to have at least one year of cash before I retired in case the market was down. But, this past week I kept looking at the extremely low prices. Finally yesterday I compromised and moved a portion of the cash into stock.

seems like potentially volatile economic times. I would, at least, get a strong second opinion, from another financial advisor.

No argument there.

For as long as I've been hearing about the Doomsday Clock, it's always been close to midnight. This is a crisis, but it's no worse than the Berlin Wall, the invasion of Korea, the Cuban Missile Crisis, or half a dozen other things that have happened since WWII.

True...but the most worrisome thing about this crisis is that there is a Russian Madman with his finger on the button.

Is Putin a madman or is he a true believer in a theory most of us hate? Does he genuinely believe he is doing what is best for the remaining of mankind? Does he see himself as a savior? Is this his logical, passionate, pragmatic self?

I don't know but I'm starting to have trouble with the "He's nuts" as the answer.

Common variety power monger. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Sigh.

Prayer is the answer. During WW2 the churches were open 24/7. More things are wrought by prayer than the world dreams of.
And the Germans didn't go to their churches to pray? Many of them wished for the annihilation of all the Jews, other groups too. (Not all Germans of course, but enough to put Hitler into power.)

So, in addition to running the entire universe, God has time to listen to the prayers going on in the churches built by us tiny, micreoscopic creatures, and take sides? Sort of like the prayers before football games?

He's nuts, Pepper. And he probably feels trapped, but can't admit he was wrong. He will never see himself as a "loser," no matter how much lying it takes.

Incredible, isn't it? The entire world could be destroyed by the insanity of one man.

I too have been asking myself this question. What if this is a coodinated power play by Putin to oust the US and NATO "Nation Building", with China and India's cooperation? While the world is reeling from shortages, inflation, covid, and US political/inequality chasm, these nations could be strategly banning together to be the new super power, and the Yuan will become the reserve currency.?

Thank you, Gaer! Coming from your sources, I trust that we're in big trouble. I guess we should prepare?

I think it is waaay to early to be worrying about nuclear war. Putin has not yet fully committed all his military non-nuclear forces. Let's look at this thing rationally. If Putin wanted to he, could commit all his military and simply roll over the Ukraine. No reason for Putin to use nuclear weapons.

I have given no time for these to occur, and I won't.

I agree for the most part. However, I remember the Cuban Missile Crisis. We could once more be dangerously close to use of nuclear weapons.

Seriously, I don't know why people are thinking like that ?
Putin has absolutely no reason to use nuclear weapons. Russia is not in the slightest danger.

Moreover, Putin knows that the entire civilized world would treat Russia as a pariah. I suspect that even those who support Putin would treat not only him, but the entire country as an outcast.

I agree for the most part. However, I remember the Cuban Missile Crisis. We could once more be dangerously close to use of nuclear weapons.
There have been numerous incidents such as this... https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/russia/closecall/

The U.S. nearly launched over a moon rising. Another time, we went on high alert over a bear and a wrong button being pushed, that had also been wire wrong. The Russians had similar incidents. During the Cuban missile crisis, as there were already tensions, a Soviet sub nearly launched it's missiles, as in very close. In the 50s, the U.S. was convinced the Soviets had launched missiles, but hesitated because Khrushchev was in NYC.

There have been many times when tensions were less severe that mistakes nearly led to war. Many have come to the light of day, but there are likely a few over the past 27 years since the 1995 incident.

A hesitation during times of calm, might not exist during a period of extreme tension. Let's hope that millennial in the command center isn't distracted by watching Tik Tok on his/her iPhone, like his/her parents probably are.

It's not the intentional act of some madman, but rather some dude down the chain of command screwing up.
