There is no doubt abortion is a political issue, regardless there are other reasons for discussion? So, I guess that is some form of selectiveness when it comes to topics. Most senior citizens aren't getting abortions, so that would seem to make abortion a political topic at this forum, rather than health related or other? How does the topic fit with the rules for the Google product, as listed in the search results? Personally, as long as the intentions of people aren't designed to be mean spirited, I don't care what they discuss. I was expecting the older folks to be sharing gardening, or more lightweight, and they do, but some of the energy at the site is a little more intense than I expected. With all of that said, I haven't read at the abortion thread much, so I don't know what is taking place there.A few weeks ago I had a post deleted by the moderator from the abortion thread and I, too, was thinking something was a bit screwy about a huge long discussion of abortion being okay, but any mention of how the need for an abortion arose being off limits. Then I read this, written by Matrix:
So, I realized some of these rules are not really the moderator's, but it's Google that can't bear to see any words that refer to what animals might sometimes do with each other to protect the species from extinction.
This is from a thread called, "Forum help and support" It also contains a reminder that, "thread titles should be descriptive and complete."![]()

Once in a while you'll see something posted by a person who calls him/herself "Matrix". It's my understanding that Matrix is the founder and owner of Senior Forums.Oh, thanks for sharing. Who owns?
All I can say is I don't want any unnecessary stress or unnecessary hassles. There is enough real worry. Can we think that through? This forum has moderators who determine what we can or can not say. They also have the power to ban people who cause trouble, and I don't want to be seen as the person causing trouble as I push the limits of what we talk about.
Is the problem what we talk about or our behavior?
The senior site is turning out to be a lot crazier than I expected.
When I signed up, I was in the process of overcoming a case of shingles. There was a need to explore the site to determine if the energy was right, as it's important to avoid stress during a case of shingles. I assumed a senior site was a good choice. I've enjoyed the site.Hang in there, Patricia. You ain't seen nothing yet.
Seriously, this forum is large enough to encompass many different personalities, with diverse opinions and values but is no crazier than the rest of the human race.
Except when someone violates the SF terms of use, or advertisers or individual members report a legitimate problem, I really don't think Matrix cares about what we discuss. You seem to be taking this thing personally, but we all have rules to follow and so does Matrix. Moderators don't pick-on particular members, and there's no selectivity where topics are concerned, aside from politics being prohibited. There's rules and guidelines, and that's it.There is no doubt abortion is a political issue, regardless there are other reasons for discussion? I was given a bit of a hard time when I first joined because an Australian with the temerity to comment on US politics must hate America. Yes, way back then such discussions were allowed and they did get very heated. I was a bit flabbergasted because I have always admired the American spirit but I did not allow my opinions to be silenced. When I signed up, I was in the process of overcoming a case of shingles. I've never been flagged. I was responding to someone venting a little, or so it seemed. Last night I was so tired! Possibly I didn't review all of the information well enough to remember and respond now. I'll need to look back. Again, I like to hear people's thoughts on all matters, so I'm okay with that part. At the same time, I understand the need for forums to have rules. The only time typically complain is if I detect unnecessary mean- spirited energy, or hidden agendas. Not long after I joined, one of my posts was removed. It was a comical but accurate review of global happenings over the past couple of years. Maybe a member or members reported it, but I don't think so. I'm almost certain Google flagged it on behalf of advertisers. And it's possible the post would not have been flagged for removal if I'd used the words "a former president" instead of using the controversial president's name. I only mentioned him in passing, he wasn't the main topic at all, but I suppose the name was enough.
I'm not mad about it. That's just how it works.
? That has not been the outcome of democracy so far , anywhere, has it ?and if we want a democracy that lifts the human potential, brings people to peaceful agreements, and seeing global warming as a moral issue requiring immediate attention, we need to understand that difference.

I wrote down the information. Thank you so much. With such unbelievable pain, I was worried when I read some people have continuing pain. Thankfully, I haven't had continuing pain, but I haven't been able to completely recover from the panic that started at dark after I noticed the pain would get worse at night. When the pain finally stopped, the panic continued so that part was confusing. I've never had panic issues. Panic, emotional, was as bad as shingles, physical. The site actually helped distract me at night. A sinus problem developed as the shingles healed, so I suspect that might have led to the continuing panic. The inability to clear my throat sometimes at night prevented relaxation. The apple cider drink seemed to make a difference, so I am especially thankful for your help.tangent just saw the shingle hung out so when there's time look at thesilveredge dot com / articles
and search for shingle. Amazing helps there.
also stress tabs - b-vitamins can prevent and eliminate most times, if there's not another something out of balance.
Right now I am being offered some beautiful things for decorating a home. I assume that will change. I am not in the market for decorations but I am very interested in the watches that can also serve as phones and that monitor things like blood pressure, oxygen level, and sleep. I am not sure which one is the best for me. I really would like the ability to monitor my physical condition, and one comes with a Calm apt free for 6 months, but then how much does it cost to have what I want? I don't like committing to monthly payments. What would be the Google product that is the focus of this forum?

The best government historically , regarding treatment of and care of the people and what they 'felt' and said about it, was benevolent dictators. Not all by any means, but a couple , or a few.
Democracy has wiped out a lot of peoples and their cultures and even the so-called rights of people, if there is such a thing, in the united states, so far,
especially as seen since wwI, and maybe much earlier.
I wanted to make that point but didn't want to be a know-all. The Romans adopted Christianity because it was politically advantageous. There is some confusion about which civilisation came first, Ancient Greek or Ancient Egyptian. The Egyptians were also very philosophical, the book of Thoth is full of wisdom. Why do you claim that Romans gave us religion? There was religion before the Romans. Judaism began some 500 years before the beginning of the Roman empire and there were other religions before that. Judaism was the first monotheistic religion. And the ancient Romans persecuted Christians before they adapted Christianity as the state religion.
Vocal sometimes, quiet sometimes, and following the Only One With The Way To Eternal Life and Forgiveness of Sins through the Blood of the Lamb Who was Slain, died and buried, and rose never to die again. Our only hope for our resurrection. Some folks think only Jesus counts. A minority of the world, perhaps, but a vocal one.
I do take the disapproval of google seriously, and I also have a big concern about schools allowing students to see some of the other forums I am in. Because we function in a bigger world, we have a lot to think about and part of that is things that really need to be said. It is a hard call and it is awful when we feel like something really needs to be said, and then realize it was deleted or worse, we are on the bad list. When I feel passionate about something, in the past, I have risked being banned. keep thinking if people understood what I am saying they would agree. Well, that doesn't always go well.
@Vida May I like the ideas you have presented in this thread very much. I would like to hear more of your ideas if you have them on a web site? You could be telling your ideas spontaneously but they are well thought out , extremely relevant to our crumbling culture, and i feel a strong need to put these ideas into practice very soon.![]()
