Precisely what I was going to say. I love to fly... love the take-off and landing... but the airport experience is horrible, which is sad because for the vast majority of people that is the beginning of their holiday (vacation)... and on the return the long queues for passport control and baggage and the attitude of security take the shine right off any benefits you may have had from your trip...I love flying. I hate airports.
There was a time when the airport was the fun and a great start to the actually flight. I do not mind flying , just the junk that comes before and after now.I love flying. I hate airports.
I don't actually have a comment for you, but I don't know how to make this box go away so I'll send. Is there a way to make the box go away after it's been clicked?Precisely what I was going to say. Landings are nothing to fear. Pilots that use the ILS, or Instrument Landing System, generally have no issues putting the plane near the beginning and on the center of the runway. If a smaller airport does not have an ILS installed, the pilots will hand fly the plane using VFR, or Visual Flight Rules. IOW, they use their eyes, instruments and experience to put the plane down. The vast, vast majority of passenger planes in the U.S. will use the ILS, unless the runway they are landing on is not operational. That is seldom the case in the U.S. and Canada. Other countries, I can’t comment on. I never flew International. There is a third option for landing and that is IFR, or Instrument Flight Rules. Normally, weather dictates to a pilot whether to use VFR or IFR, when an ILS is not available.can anyone say they really love flying in a plane?
i do it,but,im very glad when iv touched down,i realy hate the landings
Have you ever flown inside restricted airspace? Do you carry an IFR rating? Just being curious.I love flying. I hate airports.
I wish I knew! It's happened to me too. I just type "deleted" and figure that people will know I clicked by mistake.I don't actually have a comment for you, but I don't know how to make this box go away so I'll send. Is there a way to make the box go away after it's been clicked?
Yes I have flown in restricted airspace. The most common one I flew is near Camp Pendleton at the shoreline. I have also flown through the Lemore MOA to get to Hanford.Have you ever flown inside restricted airspace? Do you carry an IFR rating? Just being curious.
Good for you. We had an issue with a single engine plane, but I forget whereYes I have flown in restricted airspace. The most common one I flew is near Camp Pendleton at the shoreline. I have also flown through the Lemore MOA to get to Hanford.
I got my IFR rating in 1974.
..and then it's ruined on the return trip...I'm not a fan of airports or flying. If I could get there another way, I would, but sometimes you've just gotta fly. I look at it this way, you have to go through all the hassle and discomfort, and then you get a prize at the end. Safe arrival and enjoying the time at your destination is the goal.
