How to decorate a 350 sq ft apartment?

I know what you're saying

I am still reading your story. It’s fascinating to me how you pretty much knew what you wanted- bought out the land 9 years ahead. So Gary, when the aliens come, I nominate you to show them that view, and your house of course, so they can see how beautiful it is here on this big amazing earth. 😊👏

Are those Douglas Fir Trees?

I actually wondered about what I would do if it’s too hard. I’ll get a mattress pad before the bed comes. Just gave my chest freezer away. I found a small apartment size freezer that would be better in a studio apartment. Chest is 5.5 cubics the ones online are 1.2. I will get two of those. Does that make sense?
It does make sense, but remember that the 2 of them, would take up double the floor space than a single one, that might stand a bit taller.

I live in a very small apt (though it's 2 rooms) and did have a small upright freezer, for some years, which was very useful for stocking up and buying when available.
As it was in the living space, I covered the front and side of it, that was in view, with a cloth, and put something on top of it that I enjoyed looking at.
I don't remember the brand or exact size, but it had a door that opened sideways, and 4 basket drawers within it, and it was quite adequate, without being dominating in the small space.

I thought about doing that and decided that I really did not need the freezer for just me. I had planned to take it but decided against it. As soon as I put it on my porch and announced it was there for free, it was gone.

I didn't mean you should keep your previous one. :)
I meant that perhaps just one of the new smaller ones might be fine for you, in the studio, or perhaps you might instead, look for a new one that is between the size of your old one, and the one that is so small that you thought of buying 2 of it.;)

Just sharing ideas with you. You will figure out what works best for you, when you have moved and gotten a bit settled.:geek:

You are so right! A smaller cubic one is perfect for me!

Doesn't really make sense to have two. I'd think the choice of freezer could wait until after moving in.

Aren't freezers normally plugged into an outlet where they are the only thing on the circuit?
Is the apartment a rental or a condo?
What type/size of refrigerator/freezer comes with it?
What does the lease say about appliances?
How many inches of space are available in the kitchen for the refrigerator/freezer?

Maybe the apartment will come with a big side-by-side refrigerator/freezer that will have plenty of freezer capacity?

The refrigerator/freezer in the tiny hotel studio apartments that I've been staying in, are really small but fill up all the available space for width, so in the type of kitchen here my only option (if it wasn't a hotel I mean) would be to get a taller refrigerator/freezer. I suspect a side-by-side wouldn't fit in these little kitchens and if it did there might not be room to open the doors fully.

Great questions! I’ll check on these things

Piggybacking on what @HoneyNut suggested, not only does getting smaller furniture help, getting pieces that serve more than one function does too. I suggest you take a look at several tiny home videos on YouTube; they tend to feature excellent ideas on making the best use of space. There are also ones for 300 to 400 Sq Ft apartments. I viewed a couple but they weren't helpful and one was really junky. YT also has videos about even smaller spaces. Any one of them might give you ideas. This one is for a lovely tiny home.

Hope this helps. Best of blessings with your move. :) @katlupe This tiny house has bunny decor elements.

Thanks OneEye-I have not thought of looking there! Good idea!

Lodgepole pine

Doug fir are mostly further west

Typically, this area is ponderosa pine

But, logging and fires wiped out the pondies long ago

Mt Mazama (Crater Lake) didn't help, leaving most the 'soil' as pumice
Oh! I did not recognize the pines. Sad about the fires and logging. Are you concerned that the fires could come your way?

I was able to have a double bed in a corner of my studio apartment (338 sq. ft.) The way it is set up, I used two large dressers to make a wall at the end of the bed. My vanity with a large round mirror is next to the bed in that corner. It appears to be a separate bedroom even though it just part of one big room. If someone comes in and my bed is not made they never see it the whole time here.

Katlupe- I really love the idea of being able to hide my bed! Thank you for this idea!

Very
Every year
The woods are tinder dry up there
Don't dare run a chainsaw
The lodgepole are shallow rooted
They get a certain girth and they're comin' down

When I hear of electric storms, especially with wind, I get nervous
Not so nervous as when we lived there
The winds have been favorable
But, one day.......it'll happen

That shook me. This has not always been the case. What has happened?

I have one in my apartment now ... like this picture ..it's 3.5 cu. ft. ... takes up very little room, and I keep an artificial plant sitting on top for decoration. It sits on the back side of my kitchen counter out of the kitchen (sorta hallway area)
I think it looks great and it's so useful, and holds a lot of frozen food.

If I could ever make the space for one like that I would. Maybe I will find a spot someday.
