As if things weren't bad enough living next to one of the most dangerous cities in the USA--now a man in body armor has a stand off with the police and FBI after trying to get into the FBI office in Cincinatti. The episode now is in Clinton County. The freeway was shut down and all the citizens in the areas are on lockdown.

Here's an article on it: Man Tries to Breach FBI Offices--click here for article!

Just announced on TV news ..... the police caught-up with the guy on a farm, he raised his weapon to shoot, and the PD shot & killed him.

His identity & his motive are at this time not known.

Terrible! This did not even show up on my police scanner. I have a scanner because I like to know what is happening near me and around the country.

To the two new members @sch404 and @Moon Rat, I have learned that mentioning political charged "names" are not accepted here on the Senior Forums. They are triggers for arguments that are mainly based on partizan beliefs. There are many ways to discuss the problems we are having without making it about which side is right. This problem of citizens attacking the actual Government buildings with weapons and violent intent is a problem. Let's try to find a way to fix it, not make it worse, please? This might just be my opinion....so i will leave it at that.

Yes, you are correct. I apologize for my knee jerk reaction to another divisive statement.

Ah! Life in the urban jungles. More crazies everyday. Crazy ideas gathered from endless hours of mindless TV viewing and watching bad movies.

That is an untrue statement. There are many of us that watch tv programming that are not nuts and not getting any crazy ideas from our tv. It's not the tv shows or the songs people listen to or the games they play that create bad behavior. It's their personalities and mental state prior to. We're not all crackers and we're not all stupid.

Thank you for letting us know. I didn't keep up with it during the day but rather slept.

Shiffer (the suspect) was a military veteran having served in the Navy.

So many of these shooters are ex-military, which begs the question: Does the military infect veterans' minds or do many people who join the military already suffer from psychological disorders?

It was suggested to me [by a veteran] that they see much of what goes on "inside" the military . And how it connects to the government in general.

He also said that in some cases it just makes them radical/very radical.

I asked why he seemed unaffected ? He said as soon as he was discharged he got back to & concentrated on his kids & family. His dad was my actual friend , 40+ years ..... He said they did however have some deep conversations about it. He [Dad] was very proud that his son was able to put it behind him.

BTW the young man I am speaking of was also Navy .

I think many go for the training & discipline it will require to lead a facist army.

Some of you want to blame the military for infecting the minds of rogue shooters? I don't ever remember having a course on how to take down a government official. Or even to think the men entering the military are already half nuts is pure callous and injudicious thinking.

Hey hey, I hear you!

Hardly a day goes by without a news report of a shooting taking place somewhere in the nation. It has become so common that it barely makes the local news....unless it involves several victims. The number of lunatics seems to be growing exponentially.

Yep, threatening the FBI is a good indication of mental illness. :ROFLMAO:

Here's another story about another nut with a gun, although not in Ohio.

An armed man plowed his car into a barricade near the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. After exiting, he set his car ablaze, fired several shots into the air, and then shot himself.

No word as to his motivation at this point.
Maybe there was no motivation. Maybe he was just a bad shot for the first 4 or 5 rounds.

Sounds like he wanted to go out in a blaze of glory ....
