The widow of a Chinese food delivery worker who was fatally shot is speaking out after her husband's alleged killer was released on bail.
Glenn Hirsch, 51, was arrested in New York City on June 1 for the alleged murder of Zhiwen Yan, a Chinese food delivery worker, who was shot in the chest on April 30 while riding his scooter in the neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens.
A judge ordered Hirsch to be released to home confinement on Monday after posting $500,000 in bail.
"I am devastated and heartbroken that the person who targeted and killed my husband has been released on bail. He is a danger to our community and his presence in the community where I live and work makes me feel unsafe," Yan's wife, Eva Zhao, said in a statement obtained by ABC News on Tuesday. "I thank the District Attorney and the police for their efforts in obtaining and enforcing an order of protection for me, and I have faith that we will get justice for my husband, Zhiwen Yan.""

I don't understand why these violent people are being released! I posted in another thread about a man who attacked a N.Y. gubernatorial candidate with a knife while he was giving a speech. At first they released him but later arrested him. Initially the woman who was poisoning her husband was released too. He had video proof of her putting Drano in his lemonade. I've read about others who were released after committing or attempting to commit violent acts. WTH is going on?! What have we come to? WTF is wrong with our judicial systems?

Re the OP: The things that are going on these days are frightening. I feel it could be anyone, anywhere at any time. I hope the woman fully recovers but I'm sure she's quite traumatized and may be left with a form of PTSD. God help us all. I did not and will not watch the video. I hope the shooters will get the punishment they deserve.
 
Portland's gone down hill a lot. Gangs try to expand like a business so one must also assume there is business to be had in Portland wether it be guns, drugs, sex trafficking etc. When the mayor calls a state of emergency you know it's bad because he let a lot of stuff go over the last several years.
 
The Son, of a friend of mine located in Portland after discharging from the Navy .... (94-95?) he and his wife loved it at first . Then; ...... around (2000) ? they said it changed drastically & in their opinion quickly. He answered a job search, and they landed in Cleveland.Oh.

No problem: I never watch videos of this nature due to the fact that I'm a peace loving country type of guy! I enjoy the birds singing and watching the fluffy clouds. Keep the violence in the cities of the world where it belongs.

Some people have little choice where they live , very often due to finances, work situations, the inability to afford a move.. or family constraints.. , and in fact in many cases if people have lived in an area all their lives they may just accept what's going on around them and presume that everywhere else would be very similar..
