I hope this post will get past the rules against being political because we have a very exciting drama going that is much more interesting than politics. Liz Cheney is not your adverage liberated woman with dreams of power. Liz Cheney is the daughter of Dick Cheney, a former FBI director and a neocon who accomplished this...

The World Dick Cheney Built

The vice president had spent most of his career trying to lift the restraints on presidential authority. After 9/11, he did just that.

And also the invasion of Iraq while Afghanistan was ignored because it was not important to the neocon New Century American Project of expanding US military control of the mid-east.

These dynasties are about characters and power ties and personal investments that lead to fortunes.

I don't care so much about the politics as I care about the dynasties playing out this drama, and vying for control of US politics. There is Trump who has done a surprisingly good job of establishing his dynasty complete with his offspring standing in line for that power, and then there is the Cheney family and neocon dynasty tied to control of oil and military might. What is the play Shakespear would write? What of this woman who is so sure of herself she dares to challenge Trump? She radiates the power Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris only wish they had. The Clintons and Kamala Harris are outsiders, who do not have the power of a well-established dynasties.

And Trump is not a dynastic insider either but a upsurger, someone from the outside who has successfully established his upstart dynasty, thanks to Wrestlemania and those who have that mentality. You know, like a Roman emperor giving the masses bread and a circus.

I would love to see the play Shakespear would write with these characters.

I don't think we have to become partizan to understand and imagine the "play" that you described above. ( and very well ). I can see Liz working her way through those who do not want Trump and his people in 2024. The house and senate will probably be Republican after the mid-terms. That leaves it wide open for 2024. Both sides...(Joe can't run again ?) will have new faces. If Liz continues to solidify the centrists she might get the nomination. Like you said she is part of a dynasty. I wonder who the democrats could put up there ...not Kamala or Biden....someone new. I can envision quite a 2024 presidential race being the contest of this millennia. :)

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks Shakespear would write a great play about what is happen today. So much drama.
Sorry to be picky but you may have just attracted Admins' attention to this (political) thread by not spelling Shakespeare correctly :sneaky:

Sorry, I have a cold and feel really awful. I am trying to stay awake just a little longer and then I am taking cold medication and going to bed. I could have said a lot wrong but I figure you all will correct me and everything will come out okay in the long run. I really like the way many found the fun of thinking of our politics like a Shakespeare play.

Vida, Cheney was never the F.B.I. director.
Yeah, I figured I got that wrong but I don't have the energy to correct it. Too bad that is wrong because that is an important part of the play I was writing. :ROFLMAO: Oh well, shred the script and start over again.

Vida, opinions on politics are like belly buttons. everyone has one! I am not a fan of the Cheney's, but...

I disagree with all you posted.

Enough said, as I do not want to get political on this Forum.
