Where are the police?

There is someone around our neighborhood with his loud motorcycle. It happens so fast that you don't know where he's at.
Seems he does this on purpose and quite often.

Next is there are some people that shoot off fireworks on any given day for no reason. We don't know if it's for some holiday or a sporting event.
The worst thing of all is they do this throughout the night.

Now tonight there seems to be a loud outdoor party down the street. It was really disturbing my roommate because she could hear it through the window.

Now I want to ask why doesn't the police ever stop these things? Everyone around here always seems to get away with doing things.
Does anyone experience these things where you live? Or maybe at someone's house?
I just wanted to know if anyone else goes through the same nonsense?
What's your say on this?

has anyone called the police? do they give them an address to go to? if no one calls it in they can't just show up.

it took me 3 yrs of living in my current home to finally get a name and address for the jerk down the alley that spent all summer running up and down the alley at all hrs with his 4 wheelers with his kid and his friends. nearly drove me crazy. then they started driving into our yards. once i gave the info to the landlord it suddenly stopped. been peaceful ever since. bigger cities they don't have time to sit and watch for these people to go by. it's just how it is. people are very inconsiderate of others anymore.

There is a similar problem where I live. Even if you do call the police, they are rarely interested. These people are causing a public nuisance, which used to be an offence. I really don't understand the thinking behind all of this. The lives of decent people are being wrecked by low-level crime, yet the current policy is encouraging this behaviour.

The police in my town are very good about cruising the neighborhoods at night so make sure nothing is going on crime or noise wise. When something happens, they are right out to see what is going on. I can't say anything bad about the department.

Same with the fire department, you call 911 and I can hardly get the dogs out before they are here, I had to call so many times when my husband and Mom were sick.

I'm so sorry to hear you are having problems with noise and rowdy neighbors. I can't stand either of those things, which is why we moved to a much quieter neighborhood about 20 years ago. Most of our neighbors now are seniors. Very few young families or teenagers live in our complex. Same with barking dogs. We do however have a lot of coyotes that live in wilderness close by that howl at night. But earplugs solve that one pretty well. In years past I never had good luck calling the police or animal control authorities to try to get my neighbors to change behavior. That often just makes them madder and more irritating than they were previously. For me the secret was moving the hell away from the bad people I didn't want to live next to. Unfortunately that is a very drastic measure that many people either cannot afford to do or don't have the opportunity to do. So I suggest earplugs for sleeping. And during the daytime at our previous residence, I often used a gun muffler type headset to basically shut out all offending noises and sounds.

Tough guy, huh.
First thing I thought of was Clint Eastwood...playing the tough guy in "Gran Torino"....that's what to do to the misfits, point your finger at them.

Seems like a nice town, Blessed, where ii it?

I have always found the police willing to respond to calls over issues like this. Not always effective in stopping it.

We once had the police called on us when the kids were legally setting off firecrackers at about 7 pm. The cop was pretty nice, he told us of the report and acknowledged we were doing nothing illegal. He did ask that we stop for at least a short time after he left, wanted the neighbor to think he had done something I guess.

Superman knows when the bad guys are being bad, but the police have to be told...call them. Dial up the police station's non emergency number.

It depends on you neighborhood, I find. The better the neighborhood, the quieter. They have better and quicker police response and patrol.

As the mother of a kid that was once a teenager I can assure you people do call the police on noisy parties and activities. Nothing like getting a call from your kid when they are hiding in someone's closet to avoid being caught by the police (I think underage drinking or maybe weed was also involved), ha ha.

I don't like loud noise either, generally the paper lists the days and hours that people are allowed to shoot off fireworks, but how many young people are reading the newspaper?

When I lived in Colorado, a family two properties up from us hosted their family reunion each year. Super noisy until 2 AM but at least it was only once a year.

Loud vehicles are the worst, when I was young I lived for a year in an apartment right next to a busy city road and I hope never again.

Had them called many times on me, got to know them well.

One policeman we called "lawnmower" his standard line was: "if you ever do this again your ass will be grass and my name is lawnmower". Never really happened but a memorable line.

Another was the father of a friend. Several times he confiscated our fireworks, then I had to buy them back from the son...

Where do you live? I would like it that easy over here also ;)

When I watch the TV news, I'm always a bit glad that we live in a quiet rural area. The cities are seeing more crime and killings every year, and their police departments are all having staffing and funding issues....leading to situations that "enable" the criminals.
Most of the cities no longer have the police manpower to respond to anything resembling "nuisance" issues.

I noticed that to be a true statement for my area. I live in the lower class of the neighborhood. Never even see cops cruising
this area unless someone calls them.
