Where are the police?

I'm sorry you are putting up with this. The fireworks seem extreme. Interesting that people always seem to have money for that kind of stuff.

I don't think you see police just cruising like you used to. I don't think they will do anything unless a call is made and then nothing may get done. I think with noise issues, it's always better and safer for the people making the complaint to have more than one party complaining. And that can be hard or impossible to have done.

There is someone around our neighborhood with his loud motorcycle. It happens so fast that you don't know where he's at.
Seems he does this on purpose and quite often.

Next is there are some people that shoot off fireworks on any given day for no reason. We don't know if it's for some holiday or a sporting event.
The worst thing of all is they do this throughout the night.

Now tonight there seems to be a loud outdoor party down the street. It was really disturbing my roommate because she could hear it through the window.

Now I want to ask why doesn't the police ever stop these things? Everyone around here always seems to get away with doing things.
Does anyone experience these things where you live? Or maybe at someone's house?
I just wanted to know if anyone else goes through the same nonsense?
What's your say on this?

Just my opinion, but I believe a letter to the chief of police and the mayor would do more good than complaining here.

I am lucky that I live in a senior's apartment that I call, "Land of the Living Dead", it's that quiet. However, outside on the street it is a different story. Young, spoiled hoodlums with their funny looking cars and mufflers that have been changed or modified to make a lot of noise are driving around just to make noise. They never care about the price of gas. Guess, Daddy has the BIG Bucks to give to the spoiled little runt with the baseball cap on backwards! Makes me wish that we had compulsory military service for these hoodlums.

Had them called many times on me, got to know them well.

One policeman we called "lawnmower" his standard line was: "if you ever do this again your ass will be grass and my name is lawnmower". Never really happened but a memorable line.

Another was the father of a friend. Several times he confiscated our fireworks, then I had to buy them back from the son...
Hey did he get that line from the Hollywood Knights movie?!? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Just had some idiot go by on his loud bike. Fireworks? Yes to that too. I live out in the country no cops here. They are too busy stopping people with a headlight out who are pulling into Walmart. Those guys all look like Barney Fife.

It depends on you neighborhood, I find. The better the neighborhood, the quieter. They have better and quicker police response and patrol.
It does seem that rich people are quieter than poor people.

In my neighborhood, noise is seasonal.

In summer, we open the windows and let the noise in, or maybe we let the noise out. šŸ¤”

In the winter, we close the windows.

Not trying to be argumentative but we all have a right to vent and complain. Complaining isn't a bad word. Sometimes we need to do so.

Though your suggestion is a good one. I e-mailed my towns mayor about the homeless living in the gulch behind my work place. My main concern, was the trash they leave behind. I never got a response though their website says they do respond. My-e mail was very respectful. The homeless were removed, but that was probably close to a year later

Cops are never around when you want or need one. Next time, try the donut shop.

Seriously though, nuisance laws like fireworks, barking dogs, people yelling at each other during domestic disputes are pretty much ignored, unless we get a call of a complaint. Normally these types of situations don't last long. By the time the cop arrives, it's all over.

Where are the police?

The loudest noises I hear around here at night are Crickets and Cicadas in the summer and the sounds of silence in the winter. Most urban areas have a noise ordinance that sets a time for loud noise to cease. For many areas that time is 10:00 pm. After the designated time you have every right to complain to the Po Po. Good luck.

I occasionally have one of the cows grazing across the road get a little rowdy, but other than that it's very quiet.
Yeah i get trespassers: random horses. i don't consider any of the wild critters (deer, elk, rabbits, coyotes, foxes, skunks, raccoons, prairie dogs and squirrels) as trespassers cause i figure their families have lived on or passed through my land for many generations.

But the horses domesticated and have a home, somewhere. In fact neighbors tell me there's a guy up the road a piece that 'accidentally' lets his out when he's tight on feed money and wild grains tall on nearby places like mine.

We live in this rural area mainly for the "elbow room", most properties are 2-1/2 to 5+ acres. Our closest neighbor is several hundred yards away. Sometimes on a Saturday night somebody will crank up the music for their party, can barely hear it and is usually done by 10pm.

Cops? If I call them they'll come, otherwise they are busy doing what deputy sheriff's love to do- busting crooks. (y)

Well ...... so many areas want to defund them ...... and so many others want to micro manage them and how they do their work ...... then will not stand by them if their actions are the least bit questionable . As such they are not patroling, stopping , etc. Like they once did.

Maybe you should call a drug addled street thug for help ?

Sometimes I wonder if these folks that want our police defunded, had their house robbed, their car windows smashed with a hammer and maybe their daughter violated, would they still scream that they want the police defunded? I bet NOT!

If you ask me, defunding the local police makes absolutely no sense at all.

First thing I thought of was Clint Eastwood...playing the tough guy in "Gran Torino"....that's what to do to the misfits, point your finger at them.

My husband and I went to see this movie. I never would have gone except Optimum used to pay for movie Tuesdays for their triple play customers. It started out as just something to do but I was surprised that I kind of liked it.
