Zombie Ice from Greenland

Scientists reckon that "Zombie Ice", from Greenland will
cause the sea levels everywhere to rise 10 inches, 25 cm.

Some places are worrying about a rise of 3 inches, so this
must be really frightening, I know that many here live
near the sea, I really hope you are above this forecast
catastrophe.

Various countries will feel the impact of water level rise, how much & best guess would be nice to know. Don't know but would like to know if the shift in mass weight will affect the rotation of earth. That Greenland Ice Sheet would still lose about 110 trillion tons of ice,

The oceans will rise, but as earth's weather patterns are generally dictated by the oceans... weather extremes will become more frequent and even more extreme. That impacts all of us, not just the beachcombers.
We're already seeing many Weather extreme sometimes shaply contrasting ones separated by only relatively small distances or time. And i agree it is likely going to get worse.

The alterations in the Gulf Stream as glaciers melt are a real concern.
Yes that, too and other currents likely.

We have to understand that the whole planet is interconnected. 71% of our surface is water and 96.5 % of that is salt water. Melting iceberg will effect the salinity of the oceans but how that moght impact weather is unclear currently. (i did a quick search, need to do more).

somebody better tell the politicians and Hollywood celebs who want to tax me on my carbon footprint but still own beachfront properties. It’s almost as if they don’t really believe the oceans are rising.

"NOAA PROJECTIONS FOR GLOBAL SEA-LEVEL RISE TO 2100. THE LOWEST SCENARIO ASSUMES VERY MODERATE GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE AND A GENERAL CONTINUATION OF THE SEA-LEVEL RISE TREND OBSERVED IN THE 20TH CENTURY TIDE GAUGE RECORD. THE HIGHEST SCENARIO ASSUMES SIGNIFICANT GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE THAT INDUCES LARGE-SCALE MELTING OF THE GREENLAND AND ANTARCTIC ICE SHEETS."

Is all this even a reality ? I mean, if you have a glass of water, and Icecube mix ... the ice will displace the same amount of water once it melt's ... So, do 'glaciers' calving really raise sea levels ?

What about 'iceburgs' ? It seems too me that the 'ice-shelf' of Antartica for example was the cause of nature millions of years back ? Now mother nature has decided to go the other way ?

I'm not sure we had mentionable impact on it .... nor if we should even try to have , now or in the future ? ........ jmo.

Yes, if you put an ice cube in a glass of water, the "melting" doesn't raise the water level, BUT putting the ice cube in the glass DOES raise the level. The same thing will happen When the Landlocked Ice on Greenland and Antarctica begins to melt, and flow into the oceans. As the glaciers melt, the billions of cubic feet of water that drains into the oceans WILL raise the level of the water.

I just disagree ... if the ice is already in the water ...it is displacing the same, frozen or liquid ? is it not ? Now, lets say you & I made really huge icecubes at home, and carried them to the shore & dropped them in ..... Now that is additional displacment , and would have an effect on sealevel.

That said .... if all the land-based ice shelfs in the world melted ... and raised the oceans 2-3" around the world ? So what ? I still think it is just a scare point .... because people love to be scared ........ jmo

From what I understand from things I've read this is happening much quicker than originally expected. Here's a list of New Jersey towns that are predicted
to be under water by 2100:
https://patch.com/new-jersey/pointpleasant/nj-towns-underwater-who-would-lose-most-rising-seas.
But here's a list of U.S. towns predicted to be underwater by 2050. I visit two of them often because I love being by the water. One is our timeshare in Atlantic City (right at the ocean), the other is the Hoboken waterfront park on the Hudson river. 😔

These predictions make me feel sorry for the young and middle aged people I see on the oceanfront home buying shows who are eagerly plopping down lots of money for ocean front vacation homes and primary residences. I wonder if they realize what's coming (?) 🤔
