Guns......I've always liked collecting and shooting them.
I don’t collect them, but I enjoy shooting the guns I do have. I have a friend that owns an original Colt .45 or “The Peacemaker.” I don’t know if he shoots it or not. He has never taken it to the range when I have gone with him.

When my dad died [1993] he had his original Army issue Colt .45 1911 from WWII . I don't remember how he got it home but he did. He was recalled for Korea , and issued another .... had to leave that one behind .

He also had an M1 Garrand & a Thompson .... I have shot them both.

His widow [not my mother] wanted to just hold on to everything till she thought it through.

She gave his guns to her brother ..... who died of a heart-attack , in open court while being tried for crimes against her ! His wife was imprisioned for similar charges. Then she [widow] died from cancer [2003] !

I have no Idea where those guns ended up ..... kinda scary.

I had been talking to the Texas Rangers [by phone] ... as i was suspected to be part of the 'rip-off' team .. [due to our last names being the same]... I was not. She was thought to be my mother [she was not] @ the time, I had no idea what her family was doing to her.

I told them [Rangers] about the guns & to be on the look out for them ...... I never heard another word about it/them.

There's nothing I can think of that I'm compelled to buy more and more of, whether I need it or not, except food. Whatever food I buy gets consumed. How many clothes do I need? I already have closets full. Shoes? I have plenty. How many do I really need? I only have one pair of feet.

I know that buying things makes people happy. People should buy whatever they want for whatever reason. I don't like spending on things that aren't necessary just because I have the urge to buy them. That doesn't mean that I don't buy things that I want, but I'm glad I'm able to control myself. I don't need or want more things. I have enough things. My objective at this stage of my life is to lighten my load and get rid of "things" rather than accumulate more.

I had "The Peacemaker"and an antique holster with it, gun belt. It was my late husband's. Beautiful!
I gave it to his daughter after he died.
