What are you doing today 2023

I woke up in the middle of the night. Had a second cup of cocoa (cocoa is my nighttime drink). Read a bit, then realized it was morning and time to switch to coffee!

Today ... I have to vacuum up some lint that was shed by my new socks. So I might as well go all out and clean the entire living room and do a quick clean in the bedroom.

A bit of Schopenhauer for the book club. After many discouraging pages, it's beginning to make sense.

A bit of exercise.

While exercising, I listen to science and astronomy podcasts in Spanish. One thing leads to another, and having found one from Chile and one from Spain, I've started one from Argentina. I usually have trouble understanding Argentinians, but this guy speaks slowly so it's okay.

I'll talk to my language partner this evening.

I don't really feel like doing anything today, but I'm awake, so what can you do....

@Kaila Apropos the company's saving plan, if I were planning to be in it for the long haul, I'd do it, but as volatile as the market has been recently, it's a big no from me for just a year or two. There's no guarantee, of course, and I'm hardly in a position to lose $$.

The plan is administered by Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith. I'm so old that I can remember when it was called Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Bean!

oh'm'gosh, @Georgiagranny
I wouldn't participate in it, either, then! I thought it might be a totally secure account, such as an IRA type. Definitely no need, anyway, I agree!

Just got home, it's 5.20pm and just starting to get dark , it's been a glorious sunny day. I took my car to have it washed, it's scandalous the price they're charging..£18 for a wash and wax.. and that's in basic supermarket based car wash.. nothing fancy! I told them I wasn't paying £18 and I;d take it somewhere else, and suddenly it became £12... Grrrr !.. just shows how they're ripping people off..

I got some shopping while I left the car to be washed, then I stopped at the pub to have a drink and a hot sausage roll, and met some friends there I haven't seen for ages, so that was nice..:D

Got home to find the replacement picture frame had arrived after I complained about the first one being smashed on delivery...

Just had a Fresh Strawberry and cream cup cake and a cuppa tea.. :coffee:

We've had lots of wind and heavy rain for the last 2 days. This morning it was still windy and cloudy, and cold, but the rain had finally stopped. When I went out to check fences, Andy was in his house (outside). He was all warm and cozy, and had absolutely no interest in getting up to go and check fences with me. It made me realize that he was smarter than I thought! LOL. Anyway, the ground was actually squshy, from all of the rain!! And there was more tree damage from the storms (sigh)....and we haven't even finished cleaning up from the ice storm! The good news is that our pond has come up substantially, so at least the fishies are happy!

The rest of the morning has been spent giving the house a really good cleaning!! It hasn't had that happen since right before Thanksgiving.. Oh, I've cleaned here and there, but with the Christmas decorations out it's hard to do a really good job. Well, the house is pretty again!

Nobody showed up for blueberry scones. I'd have my feelings hurt except that these aren't my best effort. They passed the *done* test but they're heavy and too moist. I threw 'em back in the oven for a few more minutes. Hope it helps.

I was planning the visit for sure but the rain was coming down in buckets...most odd with these cold temps though they are above freezing now.....so I settled for an apple cinnamon muffin with my coffee though the scones souned just good even if they were heavy.
I got them in Walmart, their own bakery they say, and actually quite good but of course I would rather have had a blueberry scone.

Didn't get out of my oneises til noon and done b*gr all since.
TV and shrimp chips and a doze now and again.
I tell ya... I am so exhausted doing nothing.
Tomorrow, my plan is to defrost my small kitchen freezer.....but who knows what tomorrow will bring
Que sera sera...tralala

Oh No.. what was wrong ? :(
I have COPD, I woke up one morning and couldn't breathe, 6 days in hospital, they sent me home on oxygen. Then a month or so ago same problem, but they got me breathing pretty easily, and I was home again like today. The ER Dr said something to me about seeing me a month or so ago, and I agreed we must stop meeting like this. I think though that a new mask will help keep me out of the ER. The Dr said this time I have a touch of pneumonia. More antibiotics and prednisone. B.C. has good medical care and none of all this costs a penny, even the oxygen maker is free!

Awww I'm sorry you were fighting for breath, how terrifying it must be. Pleased you're home again now, and comfortable.🤗

yes here in the UK all those things are free too..

Okay then. The rain has stopped. It'll be overcast today but no more rain until tomorrow, then maybe a little sNOw on Sunday

Off to a fun-filled six hours with New Lady today. Maybe she'll keep her private phone conversations private. Or not. At least not until somebody in authority mentions it. That's not me. Drat.

My favorite night person, who only works two or three nights a week, will have been there during the night and done one of my least favorite chores. Yippee. Saves me a good bit of time in the morning so her efforts are much appreciated.

Hope you get better soon. COPD can be a struggle…..and pneumonia as well.
Take extra care of yourself.💐.

Good morning everyone.....very wet here, we've had so much rain the ground is squashy, more expected today, I've had construction workers working on my driveway for days, everyone is getting new culvert tiles installed and new entrance over the culvert....due to rain it is taking forever, I'm able to get out by going over to my granddaughter's and out their driveway.

It's a good Friday for me. I'll take my SUV to be serviced at Subaru for a 12,000 mile check up, oil change, NY state inspection, and wash.
My friend will pick me up, to the movie theater to see 80 For Brady, then to a new restaurant in town for a very late lunch/dinner, pick my car up and drive back home. It's a nice day for a bit of drive.

I went to the Pharmacist and got my Vitamin D today , there was a delivery Guy who was not happy and was telling the staff he hadnt got time to stand about arguing about it ,
One lady left the shop and I was thinking of doing the same . It felt tense for a moment .
