Not a whole lot goin' on, so, thought I'd go ahead and fill the inventory shelf with tiny avian abodes.
Since it's gonna be a busy spring and summer
This one, in semi finished, I might not let go

I screw the roots on from the inside so nothing showing
Gotta say, I'm lovin' this Ryobi light I got myself for Christmas

Yep. In nature, free food rarely goes unnoticed.

It's hard to control which critters get the food we put out. I've been bemoaning the amount of seed and suet the squirrels are taking from our bird feeders, but that blacktail . . . I'll bet s/he really cleans up!
Our first year in this house, we were foolish enough to think we could leave the thistle seed feeders up year round. Yogi thought it was a great idea.
That was a Droll Yankee "squirrel-proof" feeder. Didn't say anything on the packaging about bears.

Up at the cabin, seems I bought suet blocks by the ton
But.....they were fun to watch
Yeah, our blackies loved the suet cages
They'd just swat 'em down and claw them apart

I kept it simple
No extended roots thru the roof and such
to not take away from this particular root system that happily wraps/twists itself around the opening
I love it when I can reveal the magnificence of the nutrient seeking journey taken by the lowly pine tree root

I like the less than perfect ones, they look as if they are a creation of nature. I love the little crooked roof, it gives the impression of a top hat set at a jaunty angle.
Have you ever thought of making insect hotels? You could probably have fun creating those, maybe even put plaques on them and create your own little hotel chain
Heh heh.......I'm thinking (as much as that's a sweet idea) that's not one I'm gonna pursue
