Yeah, I gave the birds a late cup of cracked cornYep. In nature, free food rarely goes unnoticed.
Yeah, our blackies loved the suet cagesThat was a Droll Yankee "squirrel-proof" feeder. Didn't say anything on the packaging about bears
Yer right, GardyJust think how happy the birds will be. (They may even sing you a song)
Can't help noticing, but they both look like mouths. The first one is saying "Oh!" and this second one is saying "Come and get it!"As mentioned, my stock shelf for avian abodes is rather barren

Lousy weather tends to promote wood butchering
Of late I've come to build these tiny dwellings in lots of three
I center on aligning the entry with the grain
giving the grain a crowning effect
Highlighting it all by feathering in a dark stain on the rises

I love it when a knot dictates entry placement

I missed the mark with this one

The fix will be widening the entry (pardon the cut/paste)

Love it! This "character" underneath the hole looks like a person sitting facing the hole with a long arm bent at the elbow. lolPiddling my way thru winter...getting impatient for spring

I like the less than perfect ones, they look as if they are a creation of nature. I love the little crooked roof, it gives the impression of a top hat set at a jaunty angle. This wee abode has given me fits
Took forever to yield a less than product
Heh, even the pics are lousy (might be the photog)
Glad it's done

Heh heh.......I'm thinking (as much as that's a sweet idea) that's not one I'm gonna pursueHave you ever thought of making insect hotels? You could probably have fun creating those, maybe even put plaques on them and create your own little hotel chain
That's the intentI like the less than perfect ones, they look as if they are a creation of nature.
